About us

Founded in 2008, the non-profit organization SchlauFox e.V. has set itself the task of accompanying children and adolescents on their individual paths through education. Through targeted promotion, their full potential is tapped and the youngsters benefit fully from their educational success.

Our mission statement
Well-grounded education is the key to economic and social participation and good educational and employment opportunities. Therefore, SchlauFox e.V. particularly supports socio-economically disadvantaged children and adolescents at different levels of their school and extracurricular education. We pursue different approaches: support in school education, integration of refugees, support on the way to school, experience the culture of Hamburg, healthy cooking together.

What makes us different
SchlauFox stands for young social commitment. Under the roof of Cunning Fox there is space for multiculturalism, dynamism and willingness to take action.

Our goals
With our promotional work we want to help ensure that children and adolescents with and without a migration background can achieve more success on their individual path through education. In order to achieve this, we act flexibly and in a variety of ways. Cunning Fox also sees itself as a point of contact: we are accessible to anyone who wants to get involved in education! That's all: our commitment is to more education.

Programs
• JEA! - Coaching up to school-leaving certificate: Since 2009, JEA! has been accompanying students whose graduation is endangered, by intensive and personal support up to their first graduation.
• Anchor light - Educational mentoring for adolescent refugees: The program accompanies young refugees between the ages of 13 and 20 through a one-to-one mentoring with the goal of connecting them to the current classroom, first or second grade, or transition to vocational training.
• Pliet's children's kitchen - Cooking together for a healthy diet: SchlauFox supports nutrition education in schools with the Plietsche Children's cookery program. Here is cooked, discussed, questioned. We exchange ideas with the children and share a feast together - delicious and healthy. Learning with your head, heart, hand and healthy diet!
• Varia Culture - Art as a Method for Intercultural Dialogue: The Varia Culture program aims to use art as a method for intercultural dialogue and integration at school. Intercultural exchange, understanding and appreciation for one's own and the common culture are - especially in school - the key to successful integration and to the exploitation of the potential inherent in Hamburg's social heterogeneity.
• STAR - school attendance in Hamburg: With STAR, SchlauFox accompanies individual schoolchildren, who are dependent on additional help during the lessons.
• Center - tuition, if there are no funds available: With the Center program, SchlauFox can react unbureaucratically and as needed. The volunteers of SchlauFox can provide flexible support with professional tutoring, if financial resources are not available.
