About us

Ongata Rongai Special Home Care and Training Center (ORHSC) aims at making a difference in lives of children in the society and hence meet their special demands today and be independent tomorrow. We are a boarding and educational facility located outside of Nairobi, Kenya. Our residents are children and adults with a variety of needs and disabilities. Some of these individuals have been abandoned and/or come from abusive and neglectful families.

Vision: Achieving knowledge and practical potential for self independence among children living with disabilities in our society

Mission: Making a difference in the lives of children with special needs and vulnerable in our society for their brighter future and acceptance

Aims:
• To establish a special needs care center in order to promote the welfare of children living with mental and physical disabilities.
• To have enough space for the disabled children.
• To have a centralized place where our donors can easily access us.

Project objectives:
• Provide quality care to children with special needs, orphans and vulnerable children
• To give a sense of self-worth and esteem for children with special needs.
• To train and educate parents on handling children with special needs.
• To create awareness and importance of individuals with disabilities in the society.
• To have a place for training workers on how to care for the disabled children.
• To have a pace for quality feeding of the needy children.
• To have enough space for the children accommodation and for therapy activities.
• To have a safe place for the children to live.
• To reduce the operating cost of living e.g rent.

Henry Konga is the Founder and Project Coordinator of the Ongata Rongai Special Home Care and Training Centre (ORHSC).

For other net participants we can offer overnight facilities. Also we can offer an expert guidance and procure expert information in the field of Disability and Care.
