About us

Navacopah is a non-profit association, founded in 2016 and based in Germany, that establishes and supports a children’s village on the island of Palawan, in the Philippines. Navacopah works for disadvantaged children and wants to give them the chance of a positive, child-oriented environment in which to grow.

Projects:
• In Navacopah Port - our children’s Home on the edge of the jungle on the island of Palawan in the Philippines - disadvantaged children and young people experience that they are valued.
• Talent Workshop: workshops in the arts, crafts and sports give children and young people the opportunity to discover, practice and develop their personal talents and abilities. Social, cultural, intercultural, scientific-technical, ecological, health, religious and mathematical education are also taught holistically.
• Livelihood Projects: Young people and families from Salvacion are given a chance to earn a living. With the Navacopah fishing boat they can learn to fish and can use the boat to support the family. Other programs are agriculture and livestock husbandry at the Navacopah Port, to further develop the natural ways of earning a living and to give children early access to skills in the handling and planning of these life-sustaining activities. In our livelihood program, children and adolescents also learn how to use plants and their products to prevent disease.
• Cinema: Teenagers in remote areas of Palawan live a lot on the streets and come into contact with drugs and crime, as they have few other places to go. Navacopah Port is to be an open door and place of hope, where the young people can meet and develop together. The small cinema in the jungle is still in planning and its evening program of selected films should make a positive contribution to social togetherness. Short films as lead-ins will be about the region's nutrition, education and training.
• Port - Harbour and Home: As a sanctuary and Home, the Navacopah Port serves in emergency situations. When children or adolescents find themselves in social crisis situations, suffer existential threats or other emergencies, they can find shelter and a home in Navacopah Port. In addition, we then look for life perspectives in which the children can develop positively. Some children have been able to find their home and a good way of life for their families in Navacopah Port. We have also been able to accompany young pregnant women on their way to independent living with their child.
• The Navacopah Native Village is a piece of land by the sea with bamboo huts on the small Philippine island of Bisucay in the Pacific. At this sanctuary you can live for days, weeks or months with your family, friends or partners. We want to make this special experience available to our members, regardless of their financial situation. Everyone gives as much as he can and wishes for the time there. This supports the preservation of the Native Village to continue to give other people such an experience.
• Sponsorship: As a sponsor you support the grassroots work on site and ensure that we can work steadily and reliably in the Navacopah Port.
