About us

The goal of the fundraising association "Kinderregenwald Germany e.V." (Children's Rainforest Germany) is the long-term preservation of the tropical rainforests of this Earth. This is achieved by the partial purchase of rainforest areas by our project partners on site, which are then placed under protection.

Since the founding of the association in November 1990, we have helped to create two protected areas ("Kinderregenwälder"). These rainforests are classified as World Natural Heritage or Biosphere Reserves under the protection of UNESCO. Our aim is to further expand the existing children's rainforests. This includes environmental education and public relations in rainforest communities. In this way, we are working to counteract the increase in the global warming-boosted greenhouse effect and create habitat for animal and plant species.

The association has joined the "International Children's Rainforest Network" (ICRN), which was founded in June 1993 in Sweden. The founding members were the Kinderregenwald Associations in Sweden, Great Britain, the USA, Japan, Canada and Germany. The associations in Switzerland and Spain joined later.

Donations to the association "Children's Rainforest Germany e.V." result from the activities of schools, individuals, individual groups and clubs.
Projects:
Our development areas are in Costa Rica:
• the "Eternal Forest of Children"
• the "International Bridge of the Children"
• the "Ecocentro Danaus": we have supported this nature conservation centre since 2005.

Depending on current needs, the subsidies are distributed to these three project areas with different priorities and funding amounts.

Roland Paul is the President of Children's Rainforest Germany.

On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
