In Naples, the tradition of “caffè sospeso” - deferred coffee - has existed for over 100 years. Bread on the Hook works on a similar principle. Bread on the Hook is a non-profit association founded in 2016, which is dedicated to the nationwide dissemination of the idea of giving which is practiced so far by only a few bakeries and other shops. Bread on the Hook is an initiative that promotes gifts in everyday life and neighbourly participation.
Our guiding principle is simple.Spreading joy by giving presents.
1. A customer buys, for example, two pretzels at his favourite local bakery, but takes only one.
2. The receipt for the second is hung as a gift on the joy hook.
3. Anybody can take this gift from the hook and redeem it.
In den teilnehmenden Läden ermöglichen unsere Hakenbretter gesellschaftliche Teilhabe, schaffen nachbarschaftliche Begegnungen und bringen Menschen ins Gespräch. Der Mehrwert ist eine "gelebte Normalität", in der der Mensch im Vordergrund steht. Die positiven Rückmeldungen bestätigen unser tägliches Bestreben, noch mehr Menschen in den Stadtvierteln zu verbinden und - Einfach. Freude. Schenken. - zu verbreiten.
In the participating shops, our hook boards enable social participation, create neighbourly encounters and bring people into conversation. The positive feedback confirms our daily aspiration to connect even more people in the neighbourhoods and spread the joy of simply giving.
Die Hakenbretter gibt es aber nicht nur in Bäckereien, sondern auch in Eisdielen, Cafés oder Friseursalons! Und es werden immer mehr.
The hook boards are available i not only n bakeries, but also in ice cream parlours, cafes or hairdressing salons! And there are more and more of them.
Nach Absprache können wir für andere Netzteilnehmer eine Beratung durchführen, ein Referat halten, aktuelle Fachinformationen und Kontakte vermitteln auf dem Gebiet unserer Arbeit.
