TAREA is implementing the following activities.
1) Dialogue on Net Metering
Since November 2021 TAREA is dialoguing with TANESCO to implement net metering scheme of 2018 in Tanzania.
2) Enabling livelihood of girls in Masasi
TAREA is enabling girls that dropped from the schools due to the pregnancy or poverty to become self-reliant using solar technology. Girls are trained to become solar photovoltaic artisans. They are given tools that they can start working on their own.
3) Biomass policy dialogue
TAREA in cooperation with SNV is implementing the project supported by the Endev to create the enabling environment of scaling up the use of Improved Cook Stoves in Tanzania.
4) Clean Cooking to Combat Climate Change in Tanzania
TAREA is cooperating with OffgridSun and Mutina Group GmbH to distribute household improved cookstoves in the villages of Malinyi, Sofi, Mtimbira (Malinyi District), Mgudeni, Mwaya and Mang’ula A (Kilombero District). A total of 2,500 will be distributed.

About us

TAREA is a member-based non-profit organization that promotes renewable energy and energy efficiency. It has 922 members, by December 2021.

Objectives of TAREA:
1) To manage knowledge and information dissemination;
2) To network public and private renewable energy and energy efficiency stakeholders;
3) To support the creation of an enabling environment and framework for a sustainable renewable energy and energy efficiency market; and
4) To promote institutional capacity building

1) Building renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies capacities
2) Advisory service provision.
3) Lobbying and advocacy on policy, legislation, regulations, financing and standards;
4) Conducting applied research, education and training;
5) Conduct networking, collect and disseminate information and raise awareness;
7) Promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency businesses.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
