About us

Well Aware is a nonprofit organization with headquarters in Austin, Texas that provides innovative and sustainable solutions to water scarcity and contamination in Africa.
We fund and implement life-saving water systems to drive economic development and build self-sufficient communities. We drill new water wells, rehabilitate existing wells, install rainwater collection systems, and implement gravity-driven pipelines.
Our water systems work and they last because of realistic, responsible planning and collaboration. Our partner communities are motivated, organized, and prepared communities who need only sustainable clean water to kick-start their success. We adapt each project according to each community's specific needs,. And, our partner communities are thriving as a result.
We are not just a water charity. We are redefining water aid delivery and management in Africa and our methods of efficiency and sustainability are setting a new standard.

What we do
• Well Aware provides sustainable and innovative solutions to water scarcity and contamination. Well Aware’s life-saving water systems drive economic development and build self-sufficient communities.
• Well Aware utilizes new, emerging technologies making work more efficient and more cost effective: Solar power; Purification; Water kiosk technology; Mobile to mobile banking
• The Well Aware Ripple Effect touches and transforms every aspect of the communities we work in: Diseases plummet; Education increases; Gender equality increases; Agriculture and commerce grow; Economic reinvestments in community; Peace, stability and growth increase

Projects:
• Sikizana (Mwitasyano), Kenya: The Sikizana community and another NGO have already started raising funds to rehabilitate this borehole. Thanks to Well Aware supporters and fundraising being done by the community, Well Aware will equip the borehole with a new pump and solar power in 2019. This will make the system sustainable and will have a dramatic impact on the lives of all in Sikizana.
• Njoguini School, Ol Pejeta, Kenya: In 2019, in partnership with Richard's Rainwater and The Nobelity Project, Well Aware will implement a sustainable clean water system in Njoguini, by restoring a nearby incomplete and abandoned borehole.
• New Hope School, Arusha, Tanzania: n June 2019, Well Aware will drill a new borehole for New Hope and install new solar panels, transforming the community and school forever. With clean water, the students and staff will be able to focus on education and the future.
