Sobre nosotros
VAMOS JUNTOS Circle of Friends Germany - Bolivia has been a registered association since 2000.
Our goal is to sustainably improve the living conditions of shoeshiners and their families in La Paz in terms of education, health and social recognition. The basis of our work is the concept of helping people to help themselves, with personal encounters and support: a partnership based on equality.
The purpose of our charity is:
• supporting projects in Bolivia, prioritising the education, health, physical, mental, cultural and social development of young people,
• promoting the rehabilitation of criminals and drug-addicted Bolivians,
• The promotion of tolerance and understanding of young people from Germany and Bolivia through international exchange and
• The raising of awareness of the living conditions of socially disadvantaged citizens of Bolivia through exhibitions and events in both Germany and Bolivia.
The NGO ONG Asociación de apoyo social and educativo VAMOS JUNTOS is a non-governmental organization and is publicly recognized in Bolivia (La Paz Prefecture).
Our work
• Monitoring and advice: We ensure that funds are not distributed anonymously, by the personal relationship of trust on the one hand, and on the other hand, seeing that the material support does not fall into the wrong hands. In addition, we inform the shoeshiners about state forms of support that they are entitled to, but which they often don't know about.
• Education: We enable children and adolescents to attend school through individual social and material support.
• Health: prevention in the health sector; Individual support in cases of illness (in both sickness and in emergency situations); Promotion of rehabilitation of alcohol and adhesive addicts
• Networking
• Projects: work with seniors; Career guidance; „A book for a picture“: Our 2013 book project was aimed at children and adolescents and focussed on their experiences of discrimination; Shoe Cleaner's Day; Ears for Bolivia - Support for Hearing Aids; Youth group exchange
• Law: Legal advice
• Social work with families: Social work means that we also take care of the shoeshiners' families.
• Social integration: action against discrimination; working with different shoeshine groupings
• Saving: Saving on the one hand helps to develop an economic perspective, on the other hand, it is also a means and a way to build the social relationship between shoeshiners and volunteers. If this relationship of trust exists, the volunteers also become contact persons in many other personal matters.
• Fun & Games: Socio-cultural and sports activities
Ruth Overbeck de Sumi is the founder and CEO of VAMOS JUNTOS Circle of Friends Germany – Bolivia.
