Qui sommes-nous

FRAU–KUNST–POLITIK e. V. is a platform where women from many cultures weave together their stories, struggles, wounds, and visions. What unites us is not uniformity, but a shared hope: the vision of change—social, political, ecological, and deeply human.
FRAU–KUNST–POLITIK e. V. emerged from many encounters, stories, and movements. From an initial impulse of unease, curiosity, and spontaneity, a sustainable structure has grown over the years: a network of solidarity based on artistic practice, mutual support, and collective responsibility. This network provides support. It stabilizes. It makes misogynistic power relations in the state and society visible and actively counteracts them—through presence, networking, and political practice.

The purpose of the association FRAU-KUNST-POLITIK e.V. is to promote equality between women and men, to promote art and culture, and to promote the idea of international understanding. To this end, we organize various projects in the form of panel discussions, solidarity actions, workshops, performances, and art exhibitions.

Goals of the association:
• The art projects are thought-provoking projects in which both the participating artists and the audience are invited to reflect on prejudices or stereotypes and possibly change their own structural patterns of thinking.
• The exhibitions are intended as an extra-parliamentary and extra-university discussion platform.
• Through the interactive participation of art lovers and visitors, the exhibitions contribute to multicultural dialogue.
• The art projects are also designed as experience-oriented events, offering interactive and intercultural group tours.
• As the art projects are interdisciplinary and transcultural in nature, they also serve as encounter projects between different cultures.

• In this sense, art projects can be seen as contributing to the visibility of the history of women and migrants.
• The art projects can be perceived as an impetus for a change in consciousness, even for a renewal in this society.
• Last but not least, art projects contribute to overcoming political apathy.

What we do:
Promoting diversity and inclusion:
• The association offers women with a history of migration and flight an interdisciplinary, interactive, transcultural, non-university, and non-parliamentary platform to express their stories, experiences, and perspectives through art and culture. This promotes understanding and appreciation of different ways of life and contributes to the inclusion of different communities.
• Presenting diverse forms of artistic expression enriches the cultural landscape and encourages dialogue between cultures.
Empowerment of women:
• The association strengthens the self-confidence and independence of women with migrant roots by giving them a voice and highlighting their talents and potential.
• By networking female artists and organizing projects with diverse, innovative formats, the association promotes the personal and professional development of its participants.
Building bridges between cultures:
• The association sees art as a fundamental element in overcoming language barriers.
• Art and culture serve as universal languages that can connect people across cultural boundaries. The association uses this power to promote intercultural exchange and encounters between different population groups.
• Joint projects and events break down prejudices and create a climate of respect and appreciation.
Contribution to social debate:
• The association addresses critical, controversial social issues and, through its projects and events, encourages respectful discussion of questions of migration, integration, equal rights, equality, and cultural identity.
• It thus creates a space for dialogue and discussion that helps to break down prejudices, question stereotypes and traditions, and shape coexistence in a diverse society.
• All event formats promote dialogue and contribute to raising awareness of complex issues such as violence against girls and women, discrimination such as racism, exploitation, or disadvantage.
Visibility of migrant perspectives:
• The association helps to strengthen the perspectives and experiences of women with a history of migration, immigration, and flight in the public perception.
• It enables them to tell their own stories and thus convey a nuanced picture of migration and integration.
• The association believes that each person's individual personality is shaped by values and attitudes towards life, depending on their religious, socioeconomic, and political context.
