Sobre nosotros

AsyLex is a Swiss non-profit organization dedicated to providing online legal advice to asylum seekers in Switzerland and worldwide. We believe that everyone, regardless of their origin or circumstances, deserves to understand their rights and navigate the complexities of the asylum procedure with expert guidance. By leveraging technology and a dedicated network of over 200 volunteers, we are breaking down barriers and ensuring that access to justice is a reality for those who need it most.
Since 2017, AsyLex has grown from a small volunteer group into a nationwide NGO and international partner in the support for refugee rights. Today, over 200 volunteers and a dedicated office team including lawyers, jurists, and translators work together to make legal protection a reality: locally in Switzerland and globally through our partnerships.

AsyLex manages the Rights in Exile (add website to the contacts https://rightsinexile.org/), global resource hub working to promote and strengthen access to justice and legal protection of refugees worldwide. We offer dedicated information for refugees and legal advisors, connect refugees with legal counsel, and foster the creation of a dynamic global network of asylum law practitioners.

Access to Justice Must Not Be a Privilege
Over 120 million people worldwide are displaced. While laws exist to protect them, this protection often fails in practice. Language barriers, a lack of information, and complex procedures create a gap between a person's rights and their ability to claim them, leaving many without access to a fair trial. That is why our model is built to be different. We tackle this challenge directly by providing free, specialized legal advice through our dedicated volunteer teams. By operating digitally, we remove physical and financial barriers, making our services accessible to anyone who needs them. Our work is human-centered, using technology to be more efficient and responsive, ensuring we can provide powerful, high-quality support where it is needed most.

Our Vision & Mission
We believe rights only matter if they can be enforced. Our work is guided by a clear vision and mission: to facilitate access to justice for asylum seekers by closing the significant gaps in legal information and representation that prevent refugees from asserting their basic rights.
• Access to justice to ensure refugees can claim their rights in practice, not just on paper.
• Innovation for impact using LegalTech, digital tools, and new legal strategies to reach more people.
• Global & local combining grassroots expertise in Switzerland with international partnerships.
• Lasting impact by building knowledge through education events, workshops, and shared experiences.

Our Work
AsyLex closes the justice gap by combining legal expertise, innovation, and collaboration. Our activities are structured around three pillars that guide everything we do.
Our work is designed to close the significant gaps that prevent displaced people from asserting their basic rights. We focus our efforts on three core pillars that address the entire journey of accessing justice: providing clear information, offering expert legal representation, and empowering individuals and communities through knowledge.
The 3 pillars of our Work
• Access to Information: Understanding your rights is the first step to enforcing them. Many asylum seekers struggle with complex procedures, language barriers, or missing guidance. AsyLex provides accessible, multilingual information so people know what to expect and how to act.
• Access to Legal Representation: We believe that knowledge grows when it is shared. By training volunteers, practitioners, and partners, AsyLex multiplies its impact far beyond individual cases.
• Empowerment & Knowledge: We believe that knowledge grows when it is shared. By training volunteers, practitioners, and partners, AsyLex multiplies its impact far beyond individual cases. Our Educational Offering: AsyLex Academy - Our Academies are dedicated to the continuous professional development of our volunteer network and external audiences. Through specialized seminars and advanced training sessions, we ensure our team is equipped with the latest, most effective knowledge in asylum and migration law; Workshops - We offer custom workshops and speaking engagements for companies, schools, and other organizations.
