About us

Samofal DDD is a UNCCD-accredited non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth and children in Somalia. We believe in bridging the gap between environmental sustainability and modern economic empowerment. By combating desertification and promoting sustainable livelihoods, we are building a safer, greener, and more prosperous future for the next generation.

Our Mission
Empowering Somali youth with tech-driven education, digital healthcare, future-ready skills, and safe housing to unlock their potential in the modern economy.

Our Vision
We take a holistic approach to community development by addressing both immediate economic needs and long-term environmental crises.

Our key aims include:
• Combating Desertification: Preventing aggressive deforestation and protecting environment.
• Empowering Through Education: Providing tech-driven education and digital healthcare solutions to undeserved communities.
• Creating Sustainable Livelihoods: Generating modern job opportunities that do not rely on environmental degradation.
• Ensuring Basic Needs: Advocating for and providing safe housing for vulnerable youth.

Our Core Activities:
• Alternative Livelihood Training: One of major driver of deforestation in Somalia is the cutting down of trees for charcoal production. We address this directly by offering vocational training programs that equip youth with alternative, future-ready employment skills.
• Digital & Tech Education: We train young people in modern technology and digital skills, allowing them to participate in the global economy rather than relying on unsustainable land practices.
• Community Advocacy: We run grassroots initiatives to educate communities on the dangers of desertification while providing the tools and resources needed to transition to sustainable living.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
