About us

Collective Glow is a Ugandan nonprofit dedicated to improving and empowering communities through educational, creative, and developmental programs. We provide opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and healing through art workshops, performing arts, life skills training, health education, school sponsorship, community events, and human rights awareness.

Our Mission
We create safe spaces where individuals and communities feel seen, supported, and valued. Our mission is to stand with those often overlooked, meeting their needs while opening doors to growth, healing, and opportunity.

Our Vision
We envision a world where every person, regardless of background, has access to a support system that believes in their potential and helps them build a life they are proud of.

Programs & Activities
• Collaboration: Our organization values collaboration with other organisations which help us pool resources, opportunities and expertise to achieve our shared goals.
• Leadership: We create spaces that promote personal growth, development of leadership skills as well as encourage people to take on leadership roles and positions.
• Well-being: We promote personal health by equipping people with skills and knowledge to empower them to take charge of their health and make conscious decisions to be healthy.

Programs:
• Workshops: Throughout the year, we hold various workshops in performing arts, which include dance, poetry, spoken word, beatboxing, visual arts, crafts, and writing; 2) personal hygiene with a focus on menstrual health and hygiene and 3) discussions on physical and mental health, gender-based violence with emphasis on human rights awareness as well as personal and professional development trainings. These workshops are free and open to everyone.
• Outreaches: We run outreach programs in diverse communities where we offer performing arts workshops, life skills training among others. We also hold discussions on various relevant topics such as mental health and human rights. Our goal with this program is to reach out to as many communities as possible, at home, regionally and beyond, to teach free practical skills and exchange developmental ideas among others.
• After School Program: We run dance and crochet workshops as part of our After-school program in Schools.
• School Sponsorship: We run a school fees sponsorship program that is currently supporting two girls at primary school level and two in secondary school level with the goal of supporting hundreds more to access formal education and non-formal education. Our goal is to fund this program through income generating activities, fundraising, sponsorships, donations as well as partnerships.
• Mentorship: We run a free arts and crafts training program that is open to all who show interest in learning or improving their arts and crafts skills and would like to earn a living from it. This program runs twice a month. Our goal is to build upon these skills and produce artisans able to create high-quality items for both the local and international markets and lead to personal and organizational income generation. We look to collaborate with organizations, companies, and individuals to foster the skills and facilitate the markets needed to make this a sustainable program.
• She Is Hiphop: She is Hiphop is an initiative under Collective Glow that was started in 2019 with the aim of building girls and women through hiphop. We use hiphop and art as tools to bring together people of different backgrounds to share and exchange practical skills, knowledge, developmental ideas, and inspiration in various areas of life.

Upcoming projects
• Urban Indigenous Tree Project: In 2026, Collective Glow plans to start an urban tree and community restoration project. The project aims to reconnect underserved communities with nature, share knowledge, and care for the environment. It focuses on bringing Indigenous trees into urban spaces while creating space for learning, participation, and healing.
