About us
Somali Women and Child Care Association (SWCCA) is a national, nonprofit humanitarian organization that was founded in April 2012 and registered by the Federal Government of Somalia the same year with its headquarters in Mogadishu with branch offices in Baidoa of South West State and Walawayn.
SWCCA is mainly involved in empowering Somali women and girls, aiming for gender equality and the eradication of all forms of discrimination against women and children.
Our Mission
Enhance recognition and respect for human rights and establish just society with equity and equality in all walks of life. Where there is equal participation, labor division, Education, equal access to resource and opportunities
Our Vision
To empower women and children and restore dignity, by upholding human rights and promoting their capacities through education, protection, gender-based violence prevention and respond in order to create a sustainable transformation in all aspect life

Our Programs
• Health: We provide basic primary health care including reproductive, community and communicable health services With Health Education Sessions
• Clean Water: We believe and work in the provision of clean drinking water which is a core basic human rights and the most critical element in life
• Food Security & Livelihood: We work in rebuilding the livelihoods of the local communities who are suffer recurrent seasons of natural and man-made calamities
• Education: We provide opportunities to women and children in addition to building and rehabilitating education infrastructure for women & children
• Nutrition: We provide systematic treatment of acutely malnourished children, pregnant and lactating women by enabling access quality services
• Peace Building: Peace building and conflict transformation among Somali communities is one of the key thematic areas of our organization
• Women Empowerment: We acknowledge the greater economic empowerment of women and girls enables them greater independence and power
• GBV Prevention and Response: Our Gender-Based Violence prevention and response is crucial to many women and girls in Somalia that suffer discriminations
• Women Leadership & Political Participation: Addressing low women's leadership and decision-making roles across many sectors and levels
• Advocacy: SWCCA aims to empower women and promote gender equality by advocating for policy changes and implementing programs that support women’s rights
• Climate Change: SWCCA recognizes the importance of climate change and its impact on vulnerable communities, especially women and children
• Youth Empowerment: SWCCA is dedicated to empowering youth, recognizing the unique potential and importance of young individuals in shaping a brighter future for their communities
• Shelter: SWCCA is committed to working on shelter, which stands out as a critical pillar in ensuring the well-being and safety of individuals and communities
