About us

Hope for Street Children & Vulnerable People Foundation (HOPLE) is a registered non-governmental, non-political, and non-religious organization based in Damaturu, Yobe State. Founded in 2018 and officially registered in 2020, HOPLE is dedicated to empowering street children, orphans, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable families in Northern Nigeria.

A world where every street child and vulnerable person lives in dignity, with equal access to opportunities and full societal participation.

Our Mission
To empower and advocate for the rights and inclusion of street children, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable populations through programs in protection, education, health, livelihoods, and advocacy.

What We Do
Protection and Inclusion:
• Rights awareness and advocacy for women, children, and persons with disabilities.
• Community referral and accompaniment services to improve access to support.
Education and Child Protection
• Support for enrollment of out-of-school and conflict-affected children.
• Provision of learning materials and psychosocial care.
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH):
• Borehole rehabilitation and accessible sanitation facilities construction.
• Hygiene promotion campaigns in vulnerable communities and IDP camps.
Women Empowerment and Livelihoods:
• Vocational training and business startup support for widows and caregivers.
• Income-generating activities to promote self-reliance.
Food Security and Nutrition:
Provision of nutritious food and emergency support for vulnerable groups.
Shelter Support:
• Construction of transitional shelters for conflict and disaster-affected families.
Health and SRHR:
• Awareness on maternal health, sexual and reproductive health rights, and menstrual hygiene.
• Referral services for pregnant women and survivors of gender-based violence.
