About us
NGO La Rescousse is a Beninese humanitarian organisation committed to the sustainable development of grassroots communities. The organisation was created in 2017 as a result of its founders' long-standing community involvement with rural populations. It is chaired by Dr Hyacinthe KODO, a general practitioner with a passion for humanitarian work who is a staunch advocate for the welfare of local communities. With expertise in various fields, Dr KODO and his team firmly believe in the idea of shared global development.
Mission
The NGO ‘LA RESCOUSSE’ has as its mission the promotion of sustainable and harmonious development of rural communities based on a participatory strategy that includes training, integration and support for vulnerable groups, particularly women, children and young people.
Areas of work
Education, health, access to water, agriculture, youth integration, women's empowerment and social support for orphans and vulnerable children.
Projects:
• Health: Project to promote health education among populations; Project to improve paediatric care in the Couffo department; Material support for the Aplahoué regional hospital and health centres; Project to improve access to primary healthcare in rural areas
• Education: Pilot project for access to education in Azohoué-cada North; Project to support the public primary school in Gbovié; Support programme for disadvantaged schoolchildren and students
• Development aid: Cooperation with Global Partner In Hope (building water supply systems, constructing a health centre to improve maternal and child health, developing other food security initiatives)
• Women's empowerment: We want to provide material, financial and training support to enable women to better organise their activities and generate more income from their products. The GNONNOU TCHITE Project, which supports the economic development of women's cooperatives in Azohoué-Cada and Lokossouhoué, aims to empower them. By directly addressing the economic, social, educational and health challenges women face, we want to create an environment conducive to their empowerment.
