A Peaceful, United and Developed Sri Lanka where all Citizens can live with dignity as Sri Lankans; devoid of differences in Ethnicity, Language, Religion, Caste etc.
Our Mission
• To gather together civic minded citizens and like-minded civil society groups who are committed to uphold Integrity, Accountability, Equality, Inclusivity, Non-violence and work towards;
• “TRUE PEACE” through genuine reconciliation.
• Good governance by way of establishing true democracy and the rule of law.
• Sustainable development of the country by way of increasing foreign investment, more industries, more jobs, which will make Sri Lanka the True Miracle of Asia, not limited by a mere slogan.
Our objectives:
• To promote the upholding of integrity among all citizens and citizens groups, with a view of transforming society to one of equality, peace, discipline and good values devoid of racism, extremism, corruption, violence, gender bias.
• To assist and empower citizens groups and communities who are marginalized owing to a systemic breakdown of integrity.
• To educate citizens and citizen groups through varied programs the importance of upholding integrity.
Areas of work:
• Reconciliation
• Poverty alleviation
• Awareness and advocacy against violence of women and children
• Assisting the farmer communities
Projects:
• Love Jaffna: In this connection, our group ‘Love Jaffna’ has adopted a poor village in Vaddukoaddai South, Jaffna with the hope of uplifting the lives of the villages with support of people from the South and making it model for others to replicate.
• Understanding the Plantation Workers: We are involved in the process of communicating with the plantation community through the Plantation companies, to promote economic self-sufficiency and savings through the establishment of Community based Cooperatives.
• Saving Mother Lanka’s Daughters: Sex trafficking is rampant in the country targeting young girls from rural areas. We have planned awareness programs and hope to have safe houses for victims in the future, for rehabilitation and reintegration.
• Hope for Prisoners: We plan to champion a system to get prisoners engaged in, in-house medium scale manufacturing projects which will bring out their creativity and other talents thereby giving them a new meaning and perspective to life.
• Economic empowerment of farmers: Being an agricultural country where 70% of the population live in rural areas, Sri Lanka has a large populace involved in farming. Regrettably, unlike in developed countries with a similar demographic, Sri Lankan farmers are economically weak and are vulnerable. We are promoting savings through Agri Banks which in turn will strengthen Farmer Organizations to empower them to sustain themselves during adverse periods.
• Combatting over-indebtedness among villagers: To eradicate our villages of profiteering money lending agencies, we hope to establish village-based Thrift & Credit Cooperative Societies.
• Developing our Small Entrepreneurs: By arranging access to finance from the formal sector.
