What we do
• Food Security & Nutrition: IDF-Sis dedicated to promoting food security and nutrition within communities in Belet-hawa district, Gedo region as part of our efforts to combat climate change. We work closely with local farmers to implement sustainable farming practices, such as agroforestry and organic farming, that enhance soil fertility and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Through support, training and capacity-building programs, we empower communities to grow diverse and climate-resilient crops, ensuring access to nutritious food year-round. By strengthening local food systems, we strive to alleviate hunger, improve health outcomes, and create a sustainable future for generations to come.
• Peace building & Social Cohesion: DF-S facilitates dialogue, collaboration, and peace-building initiatives among communities, governments, and stakeholders in regions affected by climate-related tensions. By promoting understanding, cooperation, and sustainable resource management, we work towards building peaceful relationships, fostering resilience, and addressing climate change challenges collectively.
