About us
Juba Foundation (JF) is a local NGO, Non-profit and Non-political, which was formed in July 2004 by group of Somali intellectuals in response to the increased insecurity, suffering, famine and deaths in Somalia. Juba foundation is committed to support wellbeing of Somali community through providing education, humanitarian and development programs. JF works with local communities, institutions and the needy persons in Somalia.
During its existence, the organization has successfully conducted several activities such as Human Rights Monitoring, WATSAN project, intervention programs such as food distribution, construction of shelter, and school tents to promote access to basic education.
Juba Foundation dedicated much of its time and efforts to promote living standards of communities. In Nairobi Juba Foundation is represented by a liaison officer whose responsibility is to attend meetings and share information with other partners. Juba Foundation is registered Somali NGO Consortium. Juba Foundation has a clear focus and strategies both in terms of geographical area and constituents to serve to and as well sectors of specialty and intervention
Our Mission
Juba Foundation strives to establish peace & development through promotion of peaceful conflict resolution mechanism and undertaking developmental programmes that aim to alleviate suffering and restoring human dignity and rights.

We envision the attainment and realization of sustainable livelihood & development for urban and rural Somali society.
Projects and Programs:
• Shelter: Juba Foundation started a programme to assist local community have their Arishs fully rehabilitated to stand for changing climate and give confidence to local communities and with the support of ShelterBox UK, Juba Foundation constructed 1850 Homes for IDPs in Baidoa town and constructed 380 Mudbricks houses for IDPs in Dolllow Somalia with NFIs and repair and maintenance tools to help families rebuild themselves
• WASH: Somalia has seen decades of continuous violence and disasters, resulting in the loss of critical institutions and data. As a result, enforceable standards for sustainable water management cannot be fully implemented, further exacerbating groundwater depletion, pollution, and conflict.
• Protection: Juba Foundation, in collaboration with both local and international partners, is working in a variety of sectors to assist in the development of Somalia’s social protection system.
• Health Sector: Juba Foundation's major humanitarian activities include extensive health and nutrition services provided to poor communities affected by climate change such as floods, famine and lack of support in IDPs camps, villages and host communities in some of the cities.
• Education Sector: Juba Foundation has supplied schools and classroom equipment, teaching materials, and instructional support to schools who are unable to afford operational expenditures.
Juba Foundation also implements durable soltion programs funded by FCDO, EU and ECHO in southern Somalia
