About us

Afoni Children of Hope Foundation (ACOHOF) is a legally recognized nonprofit humanitarian and development organization in Cameroon, registered under No. E26/PS/118/11.

ACOHOF works with vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people, women, internally displaced persons, families and underserved rural communities to expand access to education, practical skills, sustainable livelihoods and opportunities for greater self-reliance.

Our approach combines education, technical and vocational training, agriculture, entrepreneurship, community development, renewable energy, water and sanitation, health promotion, environmental protection and humanitarian support.

ACOHOF seeks sustainable, locally rooted solutions that strengthen people's capacity to improve their own lives and contribute positively to their families and communities.

Our educational institutions in Bankim:
ACOHOF currently operates two distinct but complementary educational institutions side by side in Bankim, Adamawa Region:
• ACOHOF Bilingual Technical Vocational College of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship — ATVOCAE: ATVOCAE provides bilingual technical and vocational education focused on agriculture, animal husbandry, entrepreneurship, practical skills, employment and self-employment. Training combines classroom instruction with practical agricultural production, workshops, demonstrations, field activities, work-based learning and entrepreneurship development. The institution seeks to equip young people with practical competencies that respond directly to employment, self-employment, food-security and rural-development opportunities.
• ACOHOF Family Farm School — Bankim: The ACOHOF Family Farm School provides practical, family- and community-oriented agricultural education. Its educational approach combines classroom learning with practical agriculture, entrepreneurship, work-based learning, family participation and community-based assignments. Students develop skills that can be applied directly within their families, farms and communities, strengthening household livelihoods while preparing young people for responsible and productive rural livelihoods.

Our roots in Tantum and relocation to Bakum
ACOHOF's Family Farm School experience began in Tatum, Bui Division, North West Region, Cameroon, in 2014. ACOHOF also operated the ACOHOF Community Radio FM 98.5 in Tatum. Following the escalation of the armed conflict in Cameroon's North West and South West regions, insecurity made continued operations impossible. The Family Farm School, community radio and ACOHOF's facilities in Tatum were subsequently abandoned.
ACOHOF established its operational presence in Bankim in 2020 and continued developing its educational, humanitarian and community-development activities there. The experience of displacement has strengthened ACOHOF's commitment to internally displaced persons, vulnerable children and young people, resilient communities, practical education and sustainable livelihoods.
