Prisoners’ Future Foundation (PFF) is a non-governmental organisation duly registered in the Republic of Zambia under the NGO Act of 2009. Originally established to address the welfare needs of serving and former inmates, PFF has evolved its mandate to include comprehensive justice system interventions, rehabilitation, reintegration and empowerment of vulnerable and marginalised community members.
PFF works to contribute to a safe and peaceful society promoting dialogue and civic space, socio-economic empowerment, healthcare and responsiveness to climate change.

Vision
A safe and peaceful society promoting dialogue (civic space), socio-economic empowerment, Health Care and responsive to climate change.

Mission
Our mission is to enhance community safety through crime prevention and provision of legal aid services, rehabilitation, reintegration and empowerment, promote healthcare and nutrition, strengthen climate resilience through effective environmental management and WASH initiatives. Our commitment to institutional development ensures the sustained impact and growth of our mission.

Focus Areas:
• Advocacy on Human Rights
• Community Crime Prevention and Legal Aid Services
• Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Vulnerable and Marginalised Community Members
• Climate Resilience in Zambian Correctional Centres and surrounding communities
• Healthcare, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Zambian Correctional Centres

Our Approach and Interventions:
• PFF applies a Participatory and Human Rights-Based Approach and implements interventions including advocacy, capacity building, empowerment and reintegration, referral and linkage development, networking, awareness raising, documentation and social enterprise.
• PFF implements programmes in Correctional Centres/Prisons, Police Stations, Magistrate Courts and communities across Zambia, working with like-minded organisations, volunteers and interns.
• Our work includes significant experience in access to justice and legal aid, health and nutrition, rehabilitation and skills development, reintegration, human rights advocacy and environmental/climate resilience. For example, PFF's organisational profile documents extensive legal aid and paralegal interventions, including support to clients through legal advice, representation, mediation, referrals and rights awareness.
• PFF has also implemented skills development and reintegration initiatives, including the Skills Training Empowerment Project for Inmates (STEP-IN), which provides vocational training and transition-to-work support to inmates approaching release.
