Organization for Relief Development is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political and not-for profit organization founded in 2003and dedicated to the sustainable development of the Afghan communities across 34 provinces of Afghanistan—the development that links the normative concept of sustainability into the lives of Afghan communities.
ORD strive to bring-off the triumph of
SD-Goal-1: End poverty & economic empowerment in all its forms everywhere,
SD-Goal-2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture, SD-Goal 6: Clean water and sanitation,
SD-Goal 10: Reduced inequality, and
SD-Goal 16: Protection, peace, justice and strong institutions for the Afghans especially displaced communities, refugees, women, youth and other vulnerable segments of the society.
Besides, in close harmony and partnership with the United Nations and other multinational organizations, ORD endeavors to provide decent living condition for the survival and protection of communities exposed to extreme risk during hunger, emergencies, crises and conflicts. Today we are one of the Afghanistan’s largest indigenous relief and life-saving operations, working around the country, saving millions of lives.

Activities:
• School construction in Yakatoot village of Dehdadi district, Balkh province, Schools are equipped by ORD with education facilities
• Women leadership training
• Deep water well, installation of solar system and water reservoir in Almar female high school
• 240 Refugee Housing Units (RHU) were installed as local school classes in 9 provinces of the North and the Northeastern regions
• ORD Construct Library, Latrine and play ground for about 24 schools in Afghanistan.
• Construction of pipe schemes, water wells with hand pumps, solar water wells with metal water tanks, latrines, provision of hygiene kits, hygiene awareness-training , school WASH systems, and emergency WASH support to IDPs, refuges and other conflict affected papulation.
• Improving access to nutritious food for vulnerable populations
• Enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainable farming practices
• Promoting income generating activities and livelihood diversification
