Kulmiye Development Organization (KDO), established in May 1994, is a non-governmental, not-for-profit Organization which implements Relief,Recovery and Development projects.
Kulmiye Development organization seeks to end all forms of poverty by going into the hard places and closely walking with the most vulnerable communities. We have been serving through purposeful relief and development for over four decades. We believe in the fight against poverty, which is why we serve the most vulnerable communities in Somalia. We're moved and inspired by our values and belief that every person has intrinsic value and that it's our responsibility to advocate for the poor and marginalized without regard to race, creed, or gender and without adverse distinction of any kind. We serve without stipulation or expectation and on the basis of need alone. We strive to respect the culture and customs of the people we serve in order to preserve their humanity and dignity.

Our vision
Provision of life-changing resources such as clean water, food, equal educational opportunities to girls and boys, vocational training, and empowerment in the midst of unimaginable hardships our view of poverty is holistic and complex.

Mission
Saving lives, improving lives, providing basic services, mobilizing, strengthening and empowering communities towards accelerated rural development and poverty reduction strategies

Objectives:
• To promote gender equality and development and the principle gender mainstreaming in all development programs
• To improve local economies and make the community self-supporting and strengthening by providing poverty reduction facilities to the people of concern
• To assist communities when they are under humanitarian crisis by undertaking emergency response and relief operation.
• To help and support initiatives on building local capabilities with preparedness on emergency responses

Focus areas:
• Environment and Climate - Disaster Relief.
• Poverty Alleviation - Hunger, Food insecurity.
• Health - WASH.

Activities:
• Implementing Relief, Recovery and Development projects.
• General food distribution and Non-food items distribution.
• Food security and livelihood projects implementation
• Health and Nutrition projects implementation
• All kinds of construction services include schools, hospitals and health facilities.
• Construction of Water dams, Water reservoirs, (Water pools) and Digging boreholes and shallows
• Constructing and rehabilitating of Roads
• Construction of check dams, Drip irrigation designs, Agricultural canals
• Ponds and soil bands and Sand dune affixation
• Construction of sanitation facilities and sewages
• Capacity building construction skilled laborers
• Technical Vocational Skilled provision (Masonry, Plumping and Carpentry)
• Rangeland management system and consultation

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
