Über uns

Teenseed is a women-led feminist Community-Based Organization (CBO) registered in 2014 in Nairobi County, Kenya. Founded on the lived experiences of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in all their diversities and who have suffered Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).
Teenseed was conceived in Port Victoria, a small fishing town in Busia County where gender injustice, early, forced, and child marriage, teen pregnancies, girl-child school drop-out, sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), harassment, and new HIV transmissions are prevalent.

Our Vision
A society where Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) fulfill their potential and live dignified lives.

Our Mission
To empower Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) politically, socially, culturally, and economically to make informed choices about their lives.
Teenseed aspires to be a catalyst for change, facilitating grassroots communities to foster healthy relationships that respect the rights of young women and girls.

Our Focus
Teenseed primarily works with marginalized and vulnerable AGYW and with special interest groups including Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), rural and indigenous women and girls, and other categories at risk of being left behind. The geographic scope of work is in the urban informal settlements of Nairobi and in the rural areas of Homa Bay, Kisumu, and Busia Counties.
