Über uns

Teach For Lebanon (TFL) is a Lebanese NGO and member of the 61-nation global network, Teach For All.
TFL’s founder and first CEO, Ali Dimashkieh, became aware that Lebanon faces a number of education-related problems and resolved to address them by creating a program dedicated to improving the quality of education in Lebanon by providing quality education for less privileged children.
Since 2009, TFL employs, trains and places some of Lebanon’s best graduates in under-resourced schools for two consecutive years, in a mission to minimize the educational gap. These ambitious fresh graduates, Fellows, from various academic backgrounds serve as full-time teachers, leaders, community ambassadors and life-coaches fighting against these inequalities throughout the region, for two consecutive years.

Our Mission
To provide less privileged children with quality education by recruiting, training and placing young leaders into the classrooms for two years to equip children with lifelong learning skills. These young leaders continue their long-term impact as effective alumni.

Our Vision
All children will have access to quality education while fostering youth leadership and promoting civic engagement.

What we do
• Hire Educators: Recruits and select university students with core competencies to improve student achievement.
• Build their capacity: Train for a six week intensive program throughout the summer, on education best practices.
• Place them in schools: Place Fellows for a minimum of two years in full-time teaching positions in underprivileged regions.
• Provide Mentorship: Provide support to alumni & Fellows (capability building programs, career guidance, job placement). Alumni are entitled to continue their graduate studies through scholarships provided by partner universities. Maximize Fellows’ support: school visits and additional training.
• Measuring Impact: Continuously measure the impact of the program on student achievement, social behavior and the community at large.
