About us

SÜDWIND („South Wind“) researches into fair economic relationships.

SÜDWIND’s work is based on the conviction that there is a connection between the wealth in industrial countries and the poverty in broad sections of the populations of developing countries. Studies carried out by SÜDWIND in numerous research areas have demonstrated that we in Germany – politics, commerce and also consumers – share responsibility for the deplorable conditions in developing countries.

- public relations work to put pressure on businesses or political decision-makers,
- direct negotiation with those responsible,
- cooperation with and assistance to campaigns such as „erlassjahr.de“, (waiving debts) „Gerechtigkeit jetzt!“ (Justice now) or the „Kampagne für Saubere Kleidung“ (Campaign for clean clothes).

SÜDWIND works closely with other institutions, organisations for collaboration in development, initiatives, associations and communities in Germany and thoughout the world.

On request we can do the following for other net participants: give an expert opinion, make a presentation, and provide up-to-date information in the area of development politics, social standards in world trade, socially compatible investment.
