Qui sommes-nous

The aim of the European Federation for Civil Rights (EFCR) is to bring together the many powers at national levels, since only when they act together are European citizens strong enough to tackle illegalities and the arbitrariness of public authorities. National associations within the EFCR European civil rights movement remain fully independent, acting as freely as before within the framework of their chosen field of responsibility. The EFCR will not interfere in the internal affairs of an association, but rather act quasi as an umbrella, spread protectively over the civil rights movements in the individual countries. Common problems will be combatted with combined strength and the EFCR will approach individual states or the European community of states when necessary.

The non commercial EFCR, whose activities are not directed at making a profit, aims to support national associations whose purpose is to protect, implement and further develop civil rights by:

- the formation of a trust or a fund to support citizens who, through no fault of their own, have got into financial difficulties due to their struggle against injustice;
- the mutual exchange of information, the establishment of contact with the organisations of the European Union and other international institutions and persons;
- the provision of support in the tabling of grievances, complaints, petitions and proposals at international, and when necessary at national, levels;
- the maintenance of contact with the European Court of Human Rights and with the United Nations Commission on Human Rights;
- the establishment of contacts with scientific representatives in the area of civil rights;
- coordinated press contacts throughout Europe on the topic of civil rights.

Dr. Paul Perterer is the president of the federation.

On request we can give a presentation for other net participants and provide contacts within the field of our work.
