Sobre nosotros

The Foundation for the International Anti-Racism Weeks (Anti-Racism Foundation) was founded in 2014 on the initiative of Dr. Theo Zwanziger and with the support of the German Intercultural Council, the Evangelical Churches in Hessen and Nassau, the support association PRO ASYL and the German Trade Union Federation (DGB).

The purpose of the foundation is the promotion of international attitudes, tolerance in all areas of culture and the concept of international understanding.
What we do
• The Anti- Racism Foundation, in cooperation with the Intercultural Council, plans and coordinates the annual UN Weeks Against Racism in Germany and promotes model projects to overcome racism and marginalization of minorities.
• We initiate and coordinate the annual International Anti-Racism Week. In the numerous events people nationwide say no to racism and exclusion.
• We develop and promote projects that contribute to overcoming racially-motivated enmity, e.g. anti-Semitism, antiromanyism, anti-Muslim racism or racism against black people.
• We develop comprehensive information materials and organize conferences
Projects:
• International Anti-Racism Weeks: Ali Can and his crew are on the road for us during the International Anti-Racism Weeks as speedy reporters.
• Prominent people against racism: Celebrities from various areas of public life support the International Anti-Racism Week and engage in local events to make a high profile appeal against racism and exclusion.
• Inviting Muslims: The project encourages Muslim communities and institutions nationwide to organize events independently or in cooperation with other local institutions, leading to personal encounters between Muslims and non-Muslims.
• From my point of view: The confrontation with the personal perspective of people with a fugitive history is the goal of this project. We would like to encourage people with experiences of escaping to share them with others in mini-projects using six different forms of presentation. Individual cases are thus brought to the fore and contribute to the reduction of over-simplification and prejudice.
• Events tackling anti-Romanyism: The Foundation seeks to encourage and promote events with Sinti and Roma beyond the UN Weeks Against Racism.
• Events with refugees: The project is aimed at refugee self-organizations and other institutions in Germany that represent the interests of refugees. Refugees in Germany should be encouraged in this way, independently or in cooperation with other local institutions, to organize events that lead to personal encounters between refugees and the majority society.
• Video Competition: In 2016, as part of the video competition "From my point of view," the Foundation called on refugees throughout Germany to present their view of the situation in Germany in self-produced short videos and talk about their lives and experiences.

Managing Director of the Foundation for the International Anti-Racism Weeks (Anti-Racism Foundation) is Dr. Ing. Jürgen Micksch, Consultant for the International Weeks Against Racism is Marlies Dobben.

On request we can offer other net participants advice, give a presentation, and provide up-to-date information and contacts in the field of our work.
