About us

CLED-Campaign For Learning Disabilities is a Ghanaian not-for-profit, non-governmental registered organisation, founded to help students who have learning disabilities and educational inequities.

Our Vision:
Our vision is a society where children with learning disabilities and educational inequalities have equal access to education and reach their potential.

Our Mission:
Our mission is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote life-long learning opportunities for children and young people with learning disabilities and educational inequities in Ghana through teachers, parents and other professionals training, public education, assessment and specialized tutoring, special girls initiative and vocational training.
To Research and provide a range of literature for parents, teachers, schools and the wider community to better understand and support children with learning disabilities.

Our services:
• Assessments & Consultation Service: CLED in partnership with Ghana Education Service, private schools and children homes screen for reading, spelling and writing difficulties, Irlen syndrome, attention issues and co-occurring difficulties among school children in Ghana. Sometimes also parents invite CLED to screen their children at their home. We then provide advice to parents, teachers and schools after the screening service.
• Intervention Programs: CLED provides remedial tutoring and support services for children- with learning disabilities, Irlen syndrome, attention issues and related disorders.
• Education and Outreach: CLED offers education for parents, teachers, careers and the general public about learning difficulties, Irlen syndrome and attention issues.
• Special Girls Initiative: The Special Girls Initiative (SGI) is to identify, support and mentor girls with specific learning difficulties in school. The support service includes school fees, stationary, textbooks, uniforms and sometimes school lunch. The programme is currently supporting 10 girls in school.
• CLED Community School: CLED´s goal by the year 2020 is to build a multi purpose resource center in a suburb of Kasoa with the objective to provide assessment, intervention and an inclusive demonstration school.
