About us

Dream Achievers Youth Organization (DAYO) is a non-profitable community based organization established in 2005 that mitigates challenges among young people by disseminating, educating and informing the community on issues of reproductive health, human rights, HIV/AIDS, Malaria and TB and sexuality with a focus on women and youths among other issues.

Our Mission is to build capacity and respond by preventing and reducing the risks of diseases and socio-economic situations among youth in the region.

Strategic Objectives
• Increase capacity of DAYO staff and associate and strengthen DAYO resource base and to ensure program design and implementation.
• Integrate and strengthen capacity to support services and increase access to information, resources on SRHR and governance among youth to ensure quality youth friendly services through research and development of IEC materials.
• Capacity building on organization internal structure and promote collaboration and partnership and strengthen integration and linkages with other programs through synergy.
• Promote collective bargaining of young people and ensure improved livelihood for youth

Programmes & Projects
• Vocational Training: Dream Achievers Cyber, Computer & Vocational Training is a project of DAYO, aim at empowering youth of aged 18-35 with employable vocational skills and also equips them with entrepreneurial skills to start and run their own businesses while others who opt for employment get first-hand experience.
• Imarisha Vijana: DAYO initiated an Entrepreneur Resource Centre that will provide opportunity and preparing young people in the community to join the job market in the formal and informal sector. Dayo is operating a Labour Market Information and Training Centre (LMITC) for the youth in Kisauni in order to assist young women and men in seeking jobs or becoming self-employed to assist the initiatives of the youths to improve their livelihood.
• Uwezo Kenya: Uwezo is a five year initiative that aims to improve competencies in literacy and numeracy among children aged 6-16 years old in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda
• Youth Empowerement: Youth Empowerment project aimed at supporting members of the organization to start their own business and build/nature a culture of saving and borrowing loans from the revolving fund kitty or financial institutions.
• Rapid HIV Testing: DAYO has initiated HIV testing and counseling (HTC) in homesteads at Kisauni Sub-County to support increased uptake and improve access to HIV prevention, treatment and care.
• Dance4Life: Dance 4 Life is an International initiative that targets youths aged 10-24 years with information and skills on HIV/AIDS prevention and Reproductive Health Education.
• Tupange Project: Tupange was an innovative five-year program that aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of Kenyans living in urban areas by increasing utilization of quality family planning services.
• Tunaweza Bila Fujo: A six month project that involves theatre activities within Kwale and Mombasa County in Coast Region by using participatory theatre as a tool of passing critical messages to the community.
• Reducing Tension: The fund provides seed funding to outstanding youth-led initiatives that promote long-term constructive relationships between people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
• Sisi kama Kenya: Sisi Kama Kenya is a film, photography and print multimedia project.
