Sobre nosotros

Alleviate Addiction Suffering Trust (AAS Trust) is a non-profit organisation in Pakistan that works to rehabilitate street children and underprivileged adults who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. The Trust is dedicated to healing and supporting these individuals by detoxifying, feeding, educating and rehabilitating them, as well as providing the aftercare needed to ensure successful recovery.

Vision
To be a leading authority in the field of addiction and its related subjects, within Pakistan; and to be internationally recognized as providers of treatment, education, research and community improvement services

Our work
• AAS Trust reaches out to the underprivileged in our society who have fallen victim to substance abuse, offering these individuals a caring, respectful and comfortable environment, fostering recovery through the 12-steps, therapy, support, vocational training and education. We continue helping these individuals overcome their addictions so they can lead healthy, productive and drug-free lives.
•Established in 2000, AAS Trust started a rehabilitation and aftercare facility for underprivileged adults suffering from addiction. The Trust was subsequently registered as a non-profit organisation.
• However, in 2006, with the assistance of United Nations Office for Drug and Crime (UNODC) and Anti Narcotics Force (ANF), AAS Trust initiated a detoxification and rehabilitation project for street children. As of 2016, AAS Trust has served more than 2700 patients, with a 32.6% recovery success rate.
•Currently, the Trust has established two treatment centres each for street children and under privileged adults: one for primary care treatment and one for secondary care treatment (aftercare). In addition, in April 2016, the Trust launched a night shelter, a free of cost and safe place for street children to sleep at night. The idea is to save these children from a life of abuse, rape and prostitution on the streets of Pakistan.
•During primary care treatment clients stay full time for 3 months, where they go through extensive personal therapy that includes group counselling aimed at behaviour modification. After three months, clients are encouraged to go to the secondary care unit for another 6 months or more. Here they receive further counselling and make a supervised transition to normalcy. Clients also take part in occupational therapy or enroll in school, and are given lodging at the facility. There is also a hostel for children who complete the 9 month rehabilitation programme but do not have a nurturing home environment to return to. At the hostel, children work to earn a livelihood, and become independent and productive individuals.

The rehabilitation units are comfortable and secure and each area is monitored via security and surveillance systems. With 24- hour nursing care, a trained and experienced team of professional doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists and counsellors, AAS Trust provides the following as a part of their programme:

• Pre-Admission Assessment
• Admission
• Bio-Psycho-Social Assessment
• Detoxification
• Primary Care Treatment & Rehabilitation
• Secondary Care Treatment & Rehabilitation
• Children Hostel
• The 12-Steps, Group Counseling & Individual Counselling
• Family Awareness and Counselling
• Relapse Prevention
