Qui sommes-nous

The Green Tree Foundation (GTF) is a small not for profit organization, with a clear vision to establish a Green Tree filled society by means of massive revegetation by involving the farming community, schools, individuals and institutions working towards similar goals. Feeding the people and giving them a sustainable means of income.
GTF was created with the ethos of giving and expecting nothing in return, just as a Green Tree does before, during and after its life. Amongst living things, the Green Tree only gives by being the source for food and cooling agent on the back drop of the global warming and climate change. The Green Tree Foundation strongly believes that greenery and water eliminate mental poverty among the hearts of the communities.
GTF, based in Talupula, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India, is a small non-profit organization that promotes permaculture techniques to local farmers in the Antapur district in Andra Pradesh, India. The organizations are devising solutions to alleviate serious water scarcity and eroded soil.
The Green Tree Foundation was started in 2008 by a spiritually enlightened teacher, a teacher and social worker raised in the region who understands the problems facing the population and the ecosystem of the Anantapur region.
Mr. Setty experienced the hunger and social problems that are common in the area and made his goal in life to find sustainable solutions that would benefit the people and the ecosystem. As a teacher he has brought knowledge to children and adults about the relationship of nature and people.
The Anantapur District has been a victim of famines for many decades. Recent drought and famine conditions led to the suicides of farmers due to their dependence on agriculture.
With Global warming and the rapidly changing conditions in this location, the Green Tree Foundation Society has discovered that greenery and water are the antidote for all the evils of this damaged environment. So, our foundation is working with the vision of establishing a green, rich society by means of massive revegetation through horticulture under irrigation, agroforestry, back yard horticulture and kitchen gardens for individual needs. We are also involved in water-harvesting activities.
