Qui sommes-nous

Organization for Development in Action, shortly known, as ODA is a non-profit making, non-religious and non-political Resident Charity Organization founded in 2002 and re-registered in October 2009 and 2012 under the new CSO law. The prevalence of multitude of social problems in North Shewa Zone of Oromia Regional State has induced the formation of ODA. The organization participates in integrated community-based development programs, which basically emphasize on solving the problems of children, youth and women.

Vision
ODA wants to see the marginalized group of Ethiopia to actively participating in poverty alleviation endeavors.

Mission
ODA has the mission of facilitating sustainable community-based development projects and programs in the target areas with special emphasis on children, youth and women.

General Objective
ODA’s general objective is geared towards contributing to the improvement of the socio-economic status of the poor communities through implementing projects initiated by the communities themselves.

Specific Objective
• Enhance children's and adults' access to basic education,
• Facilitate target communities' access to food for healthy and Productive life,
• Promote health education and reproductive health/family planning, including HIV/AIDS,
• Facilitate income generation mechanisms,

Programs:
• Education: Incorporating the provision of Alternative Basic Education (ABE child and youth) and advocacy work.
• Food Security/Agriculture: - The agricultural program focuses on promoting production and productivity of the farming households for the restoration of food security and supporting and upgrading people who faced severe drought hazard due to belg rain failure.
• Health education and services: Conducting Health Education and Services that mainly emphasize RH/FP including HIV/AIDS
• Gender: contributing to the realization of women’s and girls’ basic rights and promotion of gender equality and elimination of HTPs


Mulugeta Kechema is the Ex/Director of Organization for Development in Action (ODA).

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
