Qui sommes-nous

Youth Voice for Peace is a youth-led organization championing for peace, by promoting inclusive participation and engagement in governance.
Our main focus is promoting young people’s inclusive participation and positive contribution to building sustainable peace through inclusive economic prosperity, good governance and responsible citizenship.
Our mission is to build sustainable peace, built on informed and deliberate engagement and involvement of its youthful population, driven by meaningful partnership and objective collaboration.
Our work is guided by the principle that sustainable peace is only possible when there is inclusive economic prosperity. Inclusive economic prosperity is brought about by good governance. Good governance is only made possible by responsible citizenship. To build sustainable peace, therefore, young people must strive to and be supported to be responsible citizens.

The Civic Voices Project is working to create a future where every voice is represented in the distribution of public good, and every Kenyan has an equal chance to maximize public resources as tools out of poverty, develop, grow and prosper. It is doing this by digitizing public participation through Civic Voices, an intuitive and easy-to-use mobile platform for public participation, where you can learn about proposed policies, laws and development initiatives under discussion, and submit your opinion on them.

Our mission is to help build more inclusive and equal democracies, through technology, where every voice counts, and every individual, everywhere, has the power to influence decisions that affect their lives.

The goal is to makes public participation easier, more inclusive and more effective.

How we work
• By digitizing public participation, we aim to achieve greater reach with public participation information, more inclusive public engagements, more informed public decision-making based on real public opinion, and easy follow up and accountability at low costs.
• Through the Civic Voices platform, citizens can indiscriminately access information on public participation, learn about proposed policies, laws, and development initiatives, and submit their views on them as required. While traditionally disadvantaged communities, including youth, women, people with disabilities and marginalized communities are empowered to meaningfully participate, duty bearers are enabled to make informed decisions based on real public opinion.

Programs:
• Advocacy and Outreach Program: At the heart of the Civic Voices Project lies a core commitment to facilitate meaningful public participation, by enabling citizens to meaningfully engage and influence decisions that affect their lives. Digitized public participation has the potential to deepen understanding, enable informed decision-making, and reduce the financial and opportunity costs to citizens associated with public participation, allowing people of all gender and all backgrounds to meaningfully engage in governance. To achieve this commitment, our comprehensive Advocacy and Outreach program works with other stakeholder to amplify the principles of the project to a wider audience.
• County Support Program: The county digital public participation support program envisions the development and utilization of digital public participation, with enhanced access to county public participation information, improved access to citizen input, and simplified county decision-making procedures. The program focuses on implementing County-level digital public participation in an aspirational and targeted way, to enable sustainable outcomes for the benefit of citizens. It introduces new approaches to the use of digital technologies to deepen transparency and public understanding of their governments' decision-making processes.
