Qui sommes-nous

Plan for Hope Initiative Uganda (PHIU) is a national nongovernmental organization founded in the year 2017. The NGO became fully registered with Uganda national NGO Bureau Registration number INDR13704749NB under THE NGO ACT, 2016 on 18th of April 2018.
‘’Hope’’ means a feeling of an expectation and desire for something.
An ‘’initiative’’ means taking charge or an opportunity to act.
It is from the above expressions that the name of the organization becomes effective i.e. Plan for Hope Initiative Uganda (PHIU).

This initiative brings together young people who have lost hope for the future due to economic imbalances in their families and entire society, and it is neither politically nor profit making motivated.

Project:
• ’Towards zero child marriage’ in south western Uganda ie Rukungiri, Kanugu and central Uganda, Kampala, and Wakiso Districts. Through Human Rights based approaches to safeguard the rights of children, the initiative has come up with a campaign to fight against child marriage. We support children to keep in school because we believe the change we want to see in young people begins with Education. We raise awareness and campaigns in Western, south western and central parts of Uganda. We are on ground in schools, homes, radio stations, gatherings and partnerships. We involve both teachers, men, boys, girls, parents and community leaders to for the best practices.
Child marriage remains one of the silent evils in Uganda today. So silent that many young girls are being married off openly in the hope of securing their financial security.
