Sobre nosotros

Nehemiah Autism Center, established in 2010 by Rahel Abayneh in Addis Abeba, is a non governmental and non profitable organization.

We are a group of families with autistic children. We were unable to send our autistic child to a school or a center who can teach and treat our children, due to lack of space in the only available autistic center in Ethiopia.
So our option was, especially mothers, to abandon our job and stay at home to look after our child with no hope insight. When one of the mothers, Rahel Abayneh, came with a vision to open another center for these kinds of children, we stand with her and managed to open this center. We are now trying to reach to so many autistic children who are deprived of their rights for education and rehabilitation because of no availability of school and society’s lack of awareness.

Goal
To create an environment for children affected by Autism where they can enjoy their basic rights and Privileges and develop to their full potential.

Our center
Nehemiah Autism Center has taken the initiative to address the problem of autism. Nehemiah Autism Center has a license from Charities and Societies Agency, which is a concerned governmental office, and has rented a house to receive autistic children The center ensures that children with autism and related disabilities are provided with education and skills that they need to grow as confident adult and become productive member of society. Treating and teaching is FREE.

Rahel Abayneh is the Director of the Nehemiah Autism Center.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
