Foundation for Education and Development (FED) is an innovative, indigenous non-governmental NGO registered under the non-government Act as a non-government organization with the registration as a community-based organization to administer orphans and other vulnerable children. Its head office is in Jinja town, Jinja District.
Founded in 2003, FED aims at providing education to the needy and disadvantaged children with great emphasis on girl child by sponsoring them with school fees, medical and other needed basics to improve their social economic welfare and that of the communities

The locations we work in are slums where the people are in dare need of our services. Foundation is to provide assistance and lifelong enrichment opportunities in support of exceptional vulnerable children’s thirst for knowledge, and their desire to make a difference in the world

Our vision is poverty reduction through supporting poor families. Today so many families remain poor; some of them ravaged by civil wars, hunger and then the AIDS epidemics that continue its foray into all communities. Incidentally, children, youths and women who make over 80% of the total population, are most vulnerable to poverty and HIV/AIDS.

Objectives:
• To improve Quality of life by caring for orphans and the needy youths through supporting their Education and general welfare.
• To extend skills training and capacity building to the communities where some youths and women cannot access higher education, especially in rural areas.
• To support community development by promoting NGOs and government
• To create awareness among the youth on the dangers of chemical dependence and drug abuse through education and counseling.

Bogere Alphonce is the Coordinator of Foundation for Education and Development (FED).

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
