Sobre nosotros

Bring Hope Humanitarian Foundation was founded in 2015 in Malmö, Sweden and Northern Iraq. Bring Hope was created as a response to the increased need for aid for millions of displaced people who were forced to migrate into Iraqi Kurdistan attempting to flee from the ISIS incursion, its subsequent torture, and resulting starvation -- arriving any way possible, many on foot. Since our inception, we have expanded our operations to include durable development programmes run on the ground in Northern Iraq, and delivered aid to countries across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. We are now registered in eight countries, including Sweden (our HQ), Iraq (our field office), the U.S.A., the United Kingdom, U.A.E., Switzerland, and Hong Kong.

Our vision
Restored dignity and harmony in the lives of those experiencing humanitarian crisis, displacement and poverty.

Our mission
To be a generative power in alleviating suffering, nurturing long-lasting development and bringing hope to those we serve, regardless of their age, gender, religion, ethnicity or nationality.

Programmes and projects:
Our programmes aim to build skills, improve physical and mental wellbeing, ensure health needs are addressed, revive agriculture, and above all to facilitate positive opportunities for participation for those living in refugee camps to generate a sense of optimism and hopefulness.
• Mental Health: The Healing Project is designed to help people on a deeper, more emotional level and to restore a person’s own power. It focuses on the mental health needs of the refugee and IDP population, incorporating discussion groups, yoga, and therapy sessions - improving mental wellbeing through addressing loss, trauma, alienation, and depression.
• Physical Health: The Sport Project is a high impact social development model that works with vulnerable youth, aiming to transform the lives of the participants through an intensive, holistic, and long-term approach. On the ground in Iraqi-Kurdistan, we run a football project for young people to participate in to bolster physical health, encourage team work and cultivate productive relationships among themselves.
• Emergency Care: The Heart of Hope program ensures crucial heart surgery for children living in refugee and IDP camps with congenital cardiovascular conditions. These surgeries are most often unavailable in the regions where camps are located and require either domestic or international transportation. The Heart of Hope project also makes sure that parents and children remain together during such a crucial time.
• Sewing: Sewing Hope is a practical project with far-reaching benefits for individuals involved. With the purpose of helping women in refugee families to contribute to their household income, Sewing Hope employs women from refugee camps around Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan. Participants receive a monthly income which not only enables them to contribute to their household resources, but also engenders self-esteem, a sense of accomplishment, and connects them to the world outside of their immediate environment.
• First-Aid: Bring Hope runs first aid training on the ground in camps in Iraqi-Kurdistan to enable individuals to provide first assistance in the case of an emergency. Our training sessions teach essential skills that could be the difference between life and death in the case of an emergency, especially in remote refugee and IDP camps.
• STEM: Bring Hope’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) project addresses the challenge of access for refugee and IDP children to high quality and current education. We run computer skills and coding classes for kids to participate in to build market relevant skills and learning capabilities.
• Medical Aid Donations: We mobilise, transport and distribute tonnes of essential medicines, treatments and supplies either directly to those we serve, or to local clinics and hospitals. To date, we have sent more than 3 million medical treatments to countries across the globe, including Sierra Leone, Lesotho, Kenya, Nigeria, Republic of Congo, Guinea, Pakistan, Lebanon and Bangladesh.
• Women inclusion: Bring Hope has partnered with Jinda Organization and developed a project focusing on skills building for women in decision-making. The project focusses on providing women locally with trainings in communication, public speaking, negotiation and problem-solving and creating a women’s council in Norther Iraq that will improve the voices of women throughout the region.
• Humanitarian Aid Donations: Our humanitarian aid donations include essential goods such as hygiene items, blankets, bedding, baby care items, clothing, and portable light devices. Through our international donation and local distribution partners, we ensure that these goods reach the individuals who need them the most. To date, we have distributed hygiene and humanitarian aid items to more than 2.1m individuals across the globe.
• Solar Energy: Bring Hope Energy has focused on sustainable and safe sources of energy for refugee and IDP camp residents, due to constant power outages in camps. We provide portable solar energy solutions delivered to households through partnership with WakaWaka, enabling continual and safe sources of light and electricity charging for families.
• Social Hub: Bring Hope has constructed sports facilities, including football pitches, in the Iraqi-Kurdistan region for access of refugee and IDP camp residents. Our sports facilities have enabled participation of youth and adults in sports programmesto improve physical health and build social cohesion, in turn becoming a hub for the communities around them.

International Partnerships:
Throughout the years, Bring Hope has built an extensive network of partners through which it can deliver its programmes and humanitarian aid. These partnerships form the pillar of success of the organization and ensure the continued delivery of essential aid and projects. We work collaboratively with donation, logistics, distribution and institutional partners, including multinational corporations, government agencies, NGOs and advisory groups. Some of these partnerships include: UNHRD, UN Peacekeeping, Johnson & Johnson & Covington Burling. We are also proud members of UN Global Compact and the International Humanitarian City (IHC), as well participating in WHO and WFP joint program: INITIATE 2.
