Qui sommes-nous

Hope Line Organisation is a community based organisation in Central Uganda, working to bring hope to abandoned, at-risk women and children, in and around rural Buikwe District. Hope Line's mandate is to empower the vulnerable both economically and socially, giving them the chance to dream again..
Hope Line Uganda is a local NGO that works in several areas to support women and children at risk. We are a very small organization composed of compassionate people with only one simple aim - to improve members of our community's living conditions and motivate their development.

Projects:
Education:
• Hope Line Organization aims to bring hope to the future leaders and citizens of Uganda through education, because education is the key to success. Hope Line has built two schools, including Nkoko Bright Primary School and Kobba Academy, which provide free education for orphans and children whose families cannot otherwise afford to send their children to school.
Empowering Women:
• Hope Line educates women about their rights both at home and in the communities where they live, where they are often used to being undermined and abused.
• With regular meetings these women have an outlet and support for the difficulties they face regularly, particularly since the majority of these women have been abandoned by their husbands and live very difficult lives with no financial support from anyone to help them in raising their children. Hope Line also empowers the women by helping to market their agricultural produce and handicrafts for an income.
• Hope Line has started a microfinance program.
Rural Healthcare Outreach:
• Hope Line aims to implement education programs and strategies in rural communities that will help them engage in good healthcare practices like family planning and child spacing, malaria prevention, dental services, and HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness
• Hope Line facilitates access to medical and dental assistance and provides information sessions disseminated through workshops for adolescents, youth and other target groups on how to prevent HIV/AIDS.
• With the little money available, we have also constructed boreholes and wells where the communities can get safe, clean water to prevent water-borne diseases such as typhoid.
• At Hope Line, we strive to reduce the number of deaths due to malaria by distributing mosquito nets and teaching the mothers on how to use them.
• Hope Line also provides local communities with immunizations and vaccinations via the local medical centre it sponsors in Kasubi.

Activities:
• The administration of two primary schools, which provide education, lifeskills, health maintenance and food for the children.
• We run two womens groups that provide both funding and guidance for projects that lead them toward self sustainability and provides emotional support for the traumas they have endured that have left them with little self esteem, unbearable anxieties around the well-being of their children and little hope for life beyond subsistance level. We help them move past despair.
• We support a community health clinic and help community members learn and engage in good healthcare practices like family planning and child spacing, malaria prevention, dental services, and HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness.
• We are involved in various agriculture projects that provide food for the schools, with the excess being sold to fund our community projects.
• We also work with a young men's group, helping them attain self reliability and mentoring them in a way that leads them toward productivity and healthy values.
• We are available to all in our communities who require emergency help.
