Sobre nosotros

Bharathamatha Family Welfare Foundation (formerly known as Bharathamatha Women’s Awareness Center) is a voluntary, secular, non-profit organization. It was started on 24th April 1989 by a group of higly motivated youth as a response to the growing apathy of the society towards the less/underprivileged, physically, and mentally challenged people in the society. Aiming at providing the needy with opportunities to attain dignified and improved socio-economic and cultural status, we have been serving the society for the past 28 years in Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam Districts of Tamil Nadu State, India.

Vision
A secure, compassionate and able society for all the underprivileged and special children, women and elderly.

Mission
Providing community based care and support system to the needy: ensuring their access to skills and opportunities to attain dignified economic and social status in the community.

Objectives
• To work for the welfare, development and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
• To work for the welfare and development of marginalized women and children.
• To form women self help groups and promote small savings among them.
• To create awareness, motivate, educate and train youth on livelihood issues
• To offer medical aids and other reliefs to the victims of natural disasters (calamities) such as earthquake, fire, flood and cyclone
• To provide employment oriented skill training programme to the youth and assist them in setting up small business ventures in the lines of self-employment
• To facilitate setting up of micro enterprises through micro credit
• To conduct vocational and paramedical courses for the purpose of self employment
• To work for the National Integration and Communal Harmony

• Vegetable Bank for Pregnant Women from BPL (Below Poverty Line) Families
• Disabilities programme: Special Home for the Children with Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Multiple Disabilities; Early intervention Centre; New Born Screening; Community Based Rehabilitation Programme (CBR); Special Self Help Group (SFG) For Disabled Persons
• Women Empowerment: SWADHAR Shelter Home for the women in difficult circumstances; Mahalir Thittam - a Programme for Women Development through Formation of Self Help Groups
• Old Age Care: Integrated Complex of Special Home for Senior Citizen & Destitute Children
• Health and Family Welfare: Mobile Medical Centre; Anti – Alcohol Awareness Campaign at Thiruvarur District; Family Counseling Centre; De-addiction Centre
• Environmental Conservation: Mangrove Afforestation; Disaster Management; Tsunami Relief
• Education And Training: Supplementary Study Centres
