Tauri Foundation, founded in 2003, is a nonprofit organization located in Bangladesh whose mission is to empower persons with disabilities through the power of education and training and to facilitate inclusion of persons with disabilities into mainstream to have a life with dignity.

Our vision
Tauri Foundation envisions a child-friendly, right-based and inclusive society that is free of abuse, exploitation and discrimination for all children irrespective to religion, ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender and disability.

Our mission
• Maximize functionality of children with disabilities through promotion of mobility and adaptation capability.
• Widen scopes of formal and non-formal education for children with disabilities through initiating special need and inclusive education services.
• Sensitize community on prevention, early detection and intervention of disabilities through advancing awareness activities.
• Develop vocational and life skills among disabled children through intensive trainings.
• Promote physical and mental health of disabled children through professional medical, psychiatric and social care.
• Advance basic human rights of disabled children through mobilizing respective stakeholders.
• Prevent disabilities among next generation children through promotion of food and water security, sanitation and protection of environmental degradation.

Programs
• Special Schooling: School for Gifted Children (SGC) is the core component of Special Schooling Project grounded by Tauri Foundation. It is a special needs school aimed at facilitating learning of children with Autism & other NDD and advance their rights in the community. Besides special education for children with Autism & other NDD it also provides art, music, dance and vocational training to trench out their latent talents. Further, also provides therapeutic support and life skills training to the students.
• Awareness Program: Organizing awareness program such as meetings, workshops, seminars and yard meeting for parents, civil society and government officials to address issues related to disabilities in both urban and rural area.
• Disability friendly toilets: For comfortable and hygienic toileting we are constructing disability friendly toilets in the rural area for the person with disabilities.
• Inclusive School: Tauri Foundation having 3 Nos. Inclusive schools for the able and disable children of rural poor families of Parila, Bargachi and Horiyan unions of Paba upozila, Rajshahi.
• Livelihood Support: To encompass persons with disabilities and the families of children with disabilities capabilities, assets, income and activities provided livelihood support.
• Parents and Caregivers Training Program: Training is essential for both parents and caregivers to enrichment their knowledge and to know how to manage the children with special needs.
• Professionals Training: Besides on job training, we are also organizing professionals training for their capacity building after certain regular intervals.
• Rehabilitation & Assistive device support: In order to maintain or improve an individual’s functioning, improve mobility and independence to facilitate participation and to enhance well-being providing required assistive devices support to the persons with disabilities.
• Safe Water for the rural families: To have sound health condition drinking safe water is very essential. So, we provides and installed wells in rural area of Paba, upozila , Rajshahi and Nabigonj upozila , Hobigonj.
• Publication: Tauri Foundation published a book on Autism.
• Community Based Rehabilitation Program (CBR)

• Tauri Therapy Centre: The center is run by experienced therapist. We have outdoor service for male and female of all age. Provides assessment, occupational therapy and physiotherapy.

Ashfaque-UL-Kabir is the General Secretary and Executive Director of Tauri Foundation.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
