Qui sommes-nous

Help for Nepal, founded in 2006, is a joint project of the JMS (Protestant Free Church) and the Himalayan Gospel Church in Kathmandu. Aid for Nepal was founded by two friends back then and is now run by three volunteers in Germany together with the team in Nepal. We have no employees, so we can happily transfer almost all donated money to Nepal.

Our work
In cooperation with Pastor David and his aid organization, we help Nepal's orphans and street children. They are also called "abandoned children" in Nepal. Aid for Nepal has not given up on helping them. Our goal is to give these children a perspective in their lives again. Besides food, shelter, medical care and clothing, education is very important.
Another focus is on humanitarian aid. The "Chepang People" live in the south of Nepal and belong to the lowest class of the population. There is not enough food, there is a lack of medical care and most of the children do not go to school. Here, too, it hits the elderly, the children, the sick and the handicapped the hardest. We spoke to three orphans who are being cared for by the Christians in the small church, although they don't have much either. The children live in the shell of the village church on the bare ground.
The workers in the brick factories often suffer from tuberculosis, but have no money for examinations and treatments.
The situation is similar in the mountain villages in the north on the border with China (Tibet). From Kathmandu Pastor David tries to meet the most urgent needs. With donations he was able to buy warm blankets and rice before winter. We as a team were there in autumn 2013 to distribute them.
The "Hair colours for Nepal" project from a hairdressing wholesaler from Egenhausen has existed since 2006. For every tube of Previa hair colour sold to hairdressers in Germany, 6 cents are used for the many different projects of Aid for Nepal.

Projects:
• Construction project orphanage Kathmandu: The New Hope Home Kathmandu has become too small and rents are rising continuously, so that we have been thinking about buying our own property and building an orphanage ourselves for a long time.
• New Hope Home Kathmandu (NHNK): The orphanage is located in the capital Kathmandu. There are currently 14 of a total of 120 sponsored children who are looked after by Pastor David and his wife as well as many helpers.
• New Hope Home Nepal Makwanpur (NHNM): The smaller orphanage is located in southern Nepal in the so-called Terai, the area of the Chepang people. It is directed by Pastor Krishnalal Praja. 11 children are currently living in Makwanapur.
The remaining orphans live in families all over Nepal.
• Help for self-help: Grace Agriculture - Outside of Kathmandu there is a pig and vegetable farm. The income goes to the orphan work and supports families who work here
• Free medical clinic: The small clinic is located in a working-class district of Kathmandu. Many brickworkers live here with the corresponding health problems (lungs) caused by the brick kiln. The Medical Clinic offers free examinations and medication.
• Earthquake aid / monsoon aid
• Sponsorships for children and training sponsorships
