Qui sommes-nous

Voice of World (VOW) is a multi-unit non-profit Social Welfare Organization providing philanthropic services, since 1992, for the underprivileged especially the differently-abled.
In early 2020 a new ally of 'Voice of World' has commenced its journey in USA named 'Voice of World Corp'. It is a separate entity and has been created for donors of USA. This new non-profit has obtained 501c3 status. The collections of 'Voice of World Corp' would be transferred to 'Voice of World' in Kolkata, less expenses. We hope that this initiative would open up opportunities for getting more donations from people residing in the US as they would be able to get tax benefits as well.
We are registered NGO in India and are supported by a VOW entity in USA.

The mission of Voice of World is to challenge discrimination against any kind of disability and inclusion of differently-abled persons by providing opportunities to learn, live, and work independently.
The organization achieves its mission by providing education, training, and imparting a wide range of life skills to its students/ beneficiaries. Of these approximately 90% are residential and the remainder live locally and come to its Centres regularly. During the past two and a half-decade with the help and support of several corporate houses, social organisations, professionals, members of the public we have grown from a fledgling group to an organisation that has benefited as many as 2000 sightless students to attain their station in life. Many more are in the process of getting education and self-confidence which was but a dream, even a few years back.

Currently, we have around 300 residential beneficiaries under our care. In the last 27 years, we have set up 25 centres in different parts of West Bengal and one each in Delhi and Puri.

Our projects:
Apart from rendering educational services to the vision impaired students, Voice of World also runs homes in different parts of Kolkata , West Bengal and Orissa for visually challenged boys, visually challenged girls, destitute girls with intellectual /learning disability (mentally challenged), visually challenged older girls undertaking higher education, children with multiple disabilities, underprivileged and marginalized orphans who are not challenged and few old age destitutes
Services are provided to the underprivileged beneficiaries absolutely "free of cost".
