Community Empowerment Network (CEN) established in 2017, and registered charity agency on 04th October, 2017 by the South Sudanese respective governmental department - Relief, Rehabilitation Commission.
The NNGO is governed by Board of Directors of 8 members, while Executive Director acts as Senior Management. The South Sudanese NNGO - Community Empowerment Network (CEN) is humanitarian, not for profit, non-political, non-discriminatory, development & advocacy organization, dedicated to working with children, families & their communities with no regard to their ethnicity, religion, color, social status, family background, class to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of displacement, violence and /or injustice.
CEN NNGO has support office in Juba, and 2 operational presences in Malakal, Melut and Maban counties, Upper Nile State, South Sudan.

Mission
Work for the development & empowerment of socio-economically disadvantaged & vulnerable people, with focus on women and children, in South Sudan and assist them in addressing their poverty-linked issues.

Vision
CEN envisions a “poverty -free, empowered & democratic society in South Sudan; which is guide by the values of equity, accountability, inclusion and respect”.

Objectives
• Disaster risk reduction provide timely relief assistance to disaster affected communities and assist them for their timely rehabilitation and early recovery.
• Promotion of livelihoods and explore sustainable & disaster resilient livelihood options.
• Promotion of education with special focus on girls’ education.
• Promotion of gender equality & women empowerment, and address gender based violence issues in a sustainable and safe manner.
• Provision of accessible and clean drinking water & quality sanitation facilities and improvement of community physical infrastructure.
• Promotion of child protection, rights of children & youth development and address the issues related to abuse and marginalization of children, adolescents and youth.
• Promote environment protection and address climate change issues.
• Promote basic health facilities and address HIV & AIDS.

Our Programmatic capacity is as follow
• Community Empowerment Network (CEN) NNGO’s blended and integrated programming ensures a holistic approach to meeting both humanitarian and development needs of target communities. CEN uses empowerment approaches that are participatory and community based to enhance ownership of the projects by the beneficiary communities.
• The CEN NNGO is committed to seeking effective transitions to create sustainable local ownership Years 2017-2019 in areas like Upper Nile state, South Sudan have resulted into deep seated relationship of trust with these communities and their local leadership.
• Currently we implement integrated peace building, environmental protection education into education program in 42 primary and secondary schools in Upper Nile and communities.

Ambrose Yai Arop is the Director at Community Empowerment Network (CEN).

For other net participants we can offer overnight facilities. Also we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
