Qui sommes-nous

Ozeankind e.V. founded in 2018 is an association against plastic waste. The formation process is a story full of questions and answers – based on a single conclusion.
THE BIGGEST THREAT FOR THE WORLD ARE PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT OTHER PEOPLE WILL SAVE IT.

Our Mission
Recycling and educational projects for the children of this world: With the help of recycling and educational projects for children, we advocate nationally and internationally for a higher awareness in the use of disposable plastic and against the constantly increasing concealment of nature through disposable plastic.
Environmental education for adults: Although mostly in theory, environmental education for adults also takes place at Ozeankind® e.V. of course. For adults, it is above all about leaving the comfort zone, rethinking their own habits and creating awareness of the consequences of our “learned” everyday life.
Motivation: Ozeankind® e.V. wants to support and motivate to avoid more and more single.use plastic without trying to crusade you. Because crusading is always a bad idea. We don´t want to promote a zero-plastic or zero-waste lifestyle. Instead we wanna motivate you to reduce the amount of used single-use plastic products and packaging, to ban microplastic from your bathroom and to inspire you towards a more sustainable lifestyle.
Help for Self-Help: The CleanUps are our start. However we are absolutely aware that picking up plastic alone will not solve the problem. For us it´s more the combination of knowledge, a change of the individual awareness and self-confident acting. Ozeankind® e.V. wants to achieve long- and short-term improvements for the local people in Germany as well as in other countries. We do that by educational work and close collaboration with locals before and after cleaning up. Ozeankind® e.V . does not see the NGO at the same table with representatives from the government or from the industry in the first instance. We prefer to take action – together with motivated companies and supporters – small and large scale.
Responsibility: We are ALL living on the SAME planet and we are running OUT OF TIME. To wait for others or to point our fingers to others does not help. We strongly believe that the key to success is education and an increased awareness of people all around the world.

Projects:
• Projects with children: Ocean Child SwopShop projects on Zanzibar; Environmental education projects e.g. in Nungwi / Zanzibar (school projects);
• School book donation: Ozeankind® E.V. donates Plastikrebell® books to social projects, educational institutions and associations! With our plastic waste book, we want to give children and young people the opportunity to deal with the global plastic waste problem. Or even start at all. Above all, we would like to show you ways how you can make a difference in the world yourself and how you can become a Plastic Rebel® yourself.
• Cleanups: We regularly carry out cleanups in the DACH area and with our monthly, location-independent Plastikrebell® Cleanups, we have been motivating many others to collect rubbish with us for more than 3 years.
• Cooperations: Ozeankind® E.V. + X = success! We cannot solve the problem alone. Cooperation is very important for projects like Ozeankind® e.V.! That's why we keep doing things together with other projects, sustainable companies or eco-hotels / resorts all over the world in order to be able to make an even bigger difference together. More people, more attention, more plastic waste.
• Plastic rebel movement: A plastic rebel® is every person in the world who knows the global plastic waste problem and who, precisely because he has realized this problem, becomes active himself instead of waiting for other people or institutions. Anyone who questions and changes their own behavior due to this problem. A Plastikrebell® picks up garbage instead of just getting upset about it. Someone who “COLLECTS instead of BEING A COUCH-POTATOE”. Someone who “CHANGES instead of WAITING”.
• Support points: Our voluntary support points are part of the association. What are the tasks of a base? Contact for interested people: Dissemination of the Ocean Child “Message”; Meetings to plan and organize actions; Implementation of: CleanUp campaigns, information stands, campaigns for member recruitment, educational events / workshops, etc.
