Durgapur Viswagandha Science Society (DVSS), Durgapur is a Non-Profit organisation established in the Year of 2005. It is now a forerunner and pioneering organization in this region working in the area of promoting and advancing S&T and environment education to the problems of national importance, improving quality of life in rural areas.

Viswagandha Foundation believes in a world where each and every man lives with full of joy, without an empty stomach, no begging, no hurt and no abuse of what they deserve. We want to be the positive aspect to these helpless, parentless and abandoned street children to fulfill their wishes and give them a chance to wake up and enjoy every day. We are one of the most influential, organized, well-networked and impactful NGO believes in sustainable development.

Our objective is to improve the human suffering throughout the country with selfless devotion. An organisation with greatness of spirit can see the fellow human beings born with the right to live in liberty and happiness. Angered at injustice & violation of principles and worked to build a nation — a world — in which all-living beings lived in honor and peace.

Our mission is to serve the poor and deprived section of the society by providing them basic amenities like healthcare, education, food, clothing and shelter. Helping the sufferers to move towards a world free from hunger, ignorance, deprivation and exploitation.

We run programs in the remotest corners of the country and urban areas to provide quality education, food, healthcare, protection from harm, abuses, and work to support the poorest, weakest, sick, and hungry and the disadvantaged members of society. Cared for the helpless and believed in dignity and importance.

Objectives:
• To promote and advance the cause of science in India.
• To organise seminars, symposiums, workshops, exhibition and other similar activities in order to provide means of exchange of scientific knowledge and to bring new technologies to the whole community.
• Promote widespread access to the universal knowledge of fundamental sciences through the excitement of scientific experiments.
• To protect and preserve our cultural and natural heritage through awareness.
• Strengthen the existing networks by connecting educators, scientists, engineers and communication professional through local, regional, national and international activities.
• Support to improve formal and informal science education in schools and colleges.
• Promotion of scientific knowledge and practical applications for national welfare.
• To forge a synergistic relationship between academia, industry and research centres for mutual benefit.
• To explore and nurture talent in science.
• To collaborate with International Science organizations for exchange of ideas and organization of joint programmes.
• To publish the proceedings of the symposium.
• To hold Annual Science Conference at a suitable place.
• To secure and manage funds and endowments for the promotion of science.

Our work
• Its mandate is to stimulate interest, encourage invention and research in pursuit of excellence in the field of S&T and disseminating scientific knowledge to the community through its activities by organizing meetings, discussions, seminars, symposiums and publications.
• DVSS brings together on a common platform teachers, students, lecturers, professors, scientists, researchers and so on.
• Trying to bridge the gap between academy and industry by organizing different types of scientific activities.
• Since its inception, DVSS has worked tirelessly to strengthen science education in the country to motivate students to take science as a challenge.
