Qui sommes-nous

Since April 2016 DEEP Germany is an independently registered association and a member of the ‘Global DEEP Network Family‘ that only acts for non-profit purposes. The Dialogue, Empathic Engagement & Peacebuilding (DEEP) Network is a global community of peace workers, scientists and decision makers of various organizations who actively advocate positive change. We work to strengthen international and intercultural understanding and cooperation for development and peace building for a more sustainable future.
In order to generate positive change, we adopt a multidimensional peacebuilding approach that supports people to relate to each other in non-violent ways. To do this, we make use of specific peace tools, such as intercultural dialogue, conflict transformation and peace education that strengthens awareness as well as transformation and human empathy.
DEEP Germany collaborates with a number of committed members, including peace workers, doctors, educators, theatre pedagogues, musicians, artists, scholars in the field of peace and development, as well as experts and project managers of various organizations. Based on our philosophy, we do not work for communities, but with communities.

Vision
We envision a world where people are empowered to collaboratively transform the root causes of social conflicts and inequality.

Mission
We develop and guide educational processes that promote the art of dialogue, empathy and creativity in the transformation of social conflicts.

Strategy:
• Training & Education: Workshops; Train the Trainers
• Community Engagement: Educational Performances; Community Gatherings
• Research & Advocacy: Innovation Labs; Peace Research Projects
• Resources: Publications; Educational Material

Projects and Activities:
• The Authoritarian Internet era of Big Anger (Das autoritäre Internetzeitalter des Megazorns): The three-part publication of the German-speaking play which is an online production live on YouTube and each part is approximately thirty-minutes. The project is a contribution to the nationwide campaigns against right-wing as part of the 75th anniversary of the liberation from National Socialism. DEEP Germany collaborates with the theatre group Sexy Theater Menschen, the Ernst Deutsch Theater and Die Vielen.
• Conducting Training & Education: We consider it essential to promote an education which transcends, subject-bound classes and deals with social and global topics. We also believe that such type of projects with younger generations are necessary to move towards sustainable positive change, away from harmful structures. In this framework, we design and prepare educational projects with a range of contents and formats, for different age groups. We work on diverse topics and problems together, motivating students to develop creative, political ideas which include self-awareness. Thereby we take care to include voices of marginalized groups to spread democratic and economically sound and equal structures that empower all participants. We work with various German and international schools, universities and other educational organizations in and outside of Germany.
• Fostering Community Engagement: We want to get people from diverse generations and cultures get together in a series of organized events. The purpose is to build bridges between local communities and to promote empathic engagement among different peoples and in harmony with the environment.
