About us

MAVUNO Project - Improvement for Community Relief and Services is a Non- Governmental Organization (NGO) established by rural farmers in 1993. Its offices are based in Ihanda near the small town of Omurushaka, in Karagwe District of Kagera Region, Tanzania, on the way to Ibanda and Rumanyika Game Reserves along Kaisho/ Murongo road.

The organization is dedicated to meeting and improving the quality of the rural lives through addressing community needs. Its programs target a broad spectrum of rural people and provide holistic support through a focus on social and economic awareness.

Our work
According to the objectives, the core of MAVUNO’s work is to empower rural people of Karagwe by relieving basic needs, providing practical opportunities, and creating sustainable alternatives.
Our five Strategic Key Areas are:
• FEBBA (Food security, Environment, Biogas, Bee farming and Agriculture)
• WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene)
• Education ( Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary and Adult Education)
• Social Welfare (Needy Children’s support, Women and Youths Development)
• Climate Change (Adaptation can reduce the economic costs of climate change)

Charles Bahati is the Project Director of MAVUNO Project.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
