Penury Root-out Alliance (PRA) – Tanzania, founded in 2015, is a national professional organisation registered under the Non-Governmental Organisation Act to provide an inclusive support to the privileged and unprivileged people in Tanzania. We operate on the idea that all people, everywhere in the world, not only developed but also developing countries, have the right to a life free from poverty and social suffering
We are a project based professional non-profit organization which focuses on bringing permanent solutions to challenges facing African communities. Our focus is on aiding people to help themselves.

To improve the quality of life and human economic and social wellbeing by concentrating on community-based development activities, leading to improved agriculture production, food security, health, education and increased self-reliance.

Our objectives
• Promoting and expanding the equitable participation of women and youth in the developmental process.
• Supporting the unprivileged by proving appropriate skills and technologies for production.
• Encouraging the community members to involve in developmental activities.
• To focus its resources in Tanzania main land where needs are greatest to improve the living standards of people living in remote areas, and where it has the capacity and infrastructure.
• Enhancing successful better life to children, disabled and aged people.

Services
• Food Security and Nutrition: Multi-storey gardening (MSG) is an innovative and exciting technology for year round vegetable or fruits production which should be spread all over Tanzania. Multi-storey gardens uses materials which are reputable for utilizing minimal land and water. Multi-storey gardening requires little technical and financial support. These gardens are also suitable for soilless culture (hydroponics), aerial, dry or non-fertile areas where soils are not suitable for conventional gardening, areas with water scarcity. Other Projects in Food Security and Nutrition: Mango and Orange Fruits Grafting technologies; Sustainable Organic Farming Technologies; Modified Intensive Poultry Production; Aqua Culture (Fish Ponds); Floriculture (Flowers).
• Modern Beekeeping: Beekeeping is playing a significant social and economic role in Tanzania as it a source of food for rural people, raw materials for industries and it helps in biodiversity by increasing agricultural production through pollination.The Program include: Manufacturing Modern Beehives; Training Commercial Beekeeping methods; Supplying tools and equipment; Bee Products Marketing
• Tourism: Tanzania is the leading nature destination in Africa. Among the seven selected Natural Wonders of Africa, three of the World Heritage Sites are in Tanzania. Our services: Wildlife Safari Tour; Api-Cultural Tourism (PRA Api-cultural tourism generates direct income to the local communities that are being visited, contributing to their development. Thus by visiting the cultural sites the guests may support community health, water supply, education and many other socio-economic projects, reforestation and also protection of environment.); Mountain Climbing; Zanzibar Honeymoon and Holydays Tour
• Industrialization: Unemployment and underemployment has dominated discussions in several Summits of Heads of State and Governments worldwide. Indeed, this challenge is increasingly becoming the burning issue of our time, the burning issue of the 21st Century. PRA Tanzania has established a small Bee Products Processing and Packaging Unit whereby all bee products can be processed and packed.
• Training Programs: The main objectives of these programs are to provide direct social and economic technical support to our target individual. The programs may include;
Change the mindset of the community by proving appropriate technologies and skills for self-employment, entrepreneur and small business plans to youth.
Encouraging the community members to involve in income generating activities such as farming, livestock or poultry management, fishery and many others.
Promoting and expand the equitable participation of women in the developmental process of their families by active participating in Gardening, Soap making, Candle making, Leather tanning, Tailoring and small business among others.
Mobilization youths on issues concerning human rights, drug abuse, reproductive health (HIV/AIDS), environment protection, youth-gender issues and other developmental programs basing on individual challenges.
