Qui sommes-nous

Sustainable Youth Development Foundation (SYDF) is a legally registered youth led, non-political Community Based Organization established in 2015 to address the Socio-economic challenges including HIV/AIDS, poverty and unemployment facing young people of Mulago III Parish and the surrounding communities in Kawempe Division - Kampala.

Vision
SYDF visualized a youths' generation that is poverty free, socially, economically self-reliant and conscious about basic rights and human dignity.

Mission statement
SYDF works to assist the youths and young people at grass root level to find access to sustainable development in society with due dignity to solve their own social-economic problems.

• Our objectives
• To facilitate the youths' engagement in community, national and international processes in promoting positive, sustainable and progressive development.
• To promote youth awareness and responsiveness to development issues and improve access to information on youth and policy issues at community levels.
• To facilitate and promote the capacity building of community stakeholders that are working with vulnerable youths and the youths taking part in positive, sustainable and progressive development.
• To equip the youths with skill in public social responsibility, accountability, leadership and offer spiritual mentorship.
• To empower the youth fight against HIV/AIDs and drug abuse

Programs

Projects:
• Obutonde eco bags: Income Generating
• Reach the girl child skills development center: Hands on Skills Training
• Education uplifting In Iwemba Sub - County Bugiri District
• The beneficiary: Babirye Valeria.
• Reach the girl child tailoring project: This is a hands on skills development project aimed at equipping the vulnerable youth mainly young mothers with skills that can enable them earn a living. Much as this project’s main entry is tailoring skills training, it also has sections of hair dressing training, Basic computer skills training, Bakery and art & craft
• Saving and lending scheme project: A group of 10 youths save 1,000/= each every Friday of the week and from this money they have managed to start a poultry project using the model of one member getting 10 chicks after 4 months in 2018.
• Sanitary pads making: Reusable sanitary pads making training
• Paper bags making: It was hands on and highly participative training where very trainee was given opportunities to make their own paper bags as indicated in the photo gallery. During the training, the youth were also taken through finance and business management tips and creative thinking.

For other net participants we can offer an expert guidance through trained staff, give an expert opinion, procure expert information and establish new contacts in the field of our work.
