Qui sommes-nous

BESO Foundation formerly “Bugerere Education Support Organisation” was established in 2008 as a community-based organization; fully registered in 2010; and incorporated as a non-profit in 2013. BESO Foundation is an Ugandan grassroots and non-profit organization that serves disadvantaged children and women in rural area of Uganda by providing access to quality education, health services, and economic empowerment. In everything we do, we place children and rural small-scale female farmers first. Since 2010 we have provided 864 children access to quality education and implemented agriculture and business training initiatives to over 600 rural women farmers in Bugerere County.
Today the BESO Foundation focuses on quality education, as well as improving livelihoods for rural families through supporting and empowering mothers. 90% of mothers in the rural areas of Uganda are left with the full family financial responsibility. BESO Foundation aims to economically empower women by supporting small community savings groups.
The first aspect of our Family Centered Approach is to provide formal and vocational education to empower young people with skills that enable them to be contributing members of their communities.
This is coupled with household agricultural, village savings and loan associations and business trainings that are designed to create economically productive communities. As a result families are better able to keep children in school, ensure food security, increase incomes and achieve higher standards of living.

Our aim is to break the cycle of poverty in rural Uganda through access to quality education for children mostly girls and economic empowerment for women.

Mission
To be a community-driven centre of excellence for education through our model schools that accelerate quality teaching and learning outcomes.

Vision
We envision a world where children are critical thinkers, problem solvers and break their own cycle of poverty.

Program areas:
• Quality education from Kindergarten to Secondary: We build and operate cost free Primary and Secondary Model school, which provide a safe, local, permanent, quality and supportive learning environment for children in rural communities.
• Girls access to education
• Teacher training: Train and equip teachers with the skills and knowledge to deliver quality learning for children.
• Economic empowerment: Micro financing: Train families on entrepreneurship, agricultural and micro financing through village savings and loan associations.

What we do
• We run and operate cost free Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary model schools.
• Train teachers to reconnect with their purpose, passion and vision to deliver quality learning for children
• Train women and parents in entrepreneurship, agricultural and microfinancing through village savings and loan associations.
